1. To be honest mate, sounds like the whole band is way too loud.
  2. They're the only one of the "main" brands I'd buy from. Good stuff all round and the Walkabout is a classic.
  3.
Not sure on this 'hearing thing right'... I mean, who in their right mind would say that... seriously? And who would take any notice...? People have actually said that to you guys and you aren't still on the floor laughing..????
It happens all the time from the Barefaced Fanboys. There's examples of it in this thread. As you say - laugh and move on. Thou shalt not question the Claber scriptures!
  4. This is a very grown up discussion compared to normal, isn't it?
  5.
Do you think it's because people in the real world like to hear with their eyes?
No - I think it's because a lot of people in the real world have expectations of premium products and one of those is fit and finish.
  6. If the weight's the issue do yourself a favour and get the CN112s. If it's gear wanderlust then there's nothing you can do about that. You need to see a Barefaced cab in the flesh and compare to your Bergantinos so you can make an informed decision before you buy one. As with all gear.
  7. So nice to see a board not rammed with distortion pedals. I know you've got 3 on there but that's less than 1/2!
  8.
So that's two counts of Blue Aran staff not having the first clue about bass cabinets then.
You do love whiteknighting alex claber, don't you?
  9.
It is worth noting that in their application guidelines for the Kappalite 3015, Eminence state that this driver is “Recommended for vented professional audio enclosures for full-range or as mids.”. The driver is not recommended for low frequency use, or for bass guitar applications, and using it as such is using the driver for a purpose other than intended.

The driver in question is excellent for bass guitar.
10. There's always a toss up between direct sales and retailer sales for any manufacturer. Less time dealing with customers generally equals more time to make product which is the bit that you actually get paid for.
  11.
In each case, do remember to use the phrase "... costing thousands of pounds ..." because then you'll be on the side of the consumer (natch)
It's like you read my mind...!
  12. I've ordered two custom instruments - one Sadowsky and one Celinder and comms on both have been sensational. I think the Celinder deal was more down to The Gallery than Christian Celinder but it did arrive when I asked it to arrive. I've ordered many custom stompboxes and this has largely been a different kettle of fish. Toneczar and D*A*M have been amazing. I've been downright ripped off by a guy on HCFX called Hempathy who is still promising a pedal I paid for in .... 2007! Most of the others have been a bit late, but not crazy.
  13.
I think you're analogy is better suited if you talk about covering up the gun chamber - which then makes the tank ineffective....like a grille over a port.....
Yeah cabs just don't work when there's a grill over the port. For shame.
It's the sound that's paramount, not the looks.
14. It's threads like this that lead me to think things like Well, it's only a ten hour drive from me...
  15.
, the Q-tron is the closest copy of the Mu-tron sound.
Nope. Not even close.
  16. When doing a deal always make sure the buyer knows what date I will send on. It's normally the line "pay by 3pm and I'll post next working day." Saves a lot of aggro.

    IMO
I know exactly what you mean. There's too much opinion posted as fact.
18. I believe this to be the lightest Sadowsky ever.
  19.
PS: these same questions crop up regularly in the Recording forum - which is a good thing! - so I might write a short Starter Guide to home recording once things quieten down at work... A thread we can all use for posting advice on software and hardware.
I think that's be a good idea. Saves you helpful people having to answer the same stupid questions over and over again.
  20.
Much better than talkbass.
Yup - but they have a tapatalk site.
  21. I've not read the whole thread but ETS are an EU option for bridges.
  22. I've been having a bit more of a poke around in Garageband and I think it'll probably do what I want it to. Just need to get an interface sorted out.
