1.
I'm thinking about buying a Fodera or similar, can you enjoy a bass that you've paid around £4000 for and what, if any, are the pitfalls of owning and gigging high end basses?
Having to keep your eye on them the whole time you're at the bar.
 2.
I've done deals on here but I wouldn't be giving a photocopy of my driving licence or passport to any of you!
Exactly. These threads are comedy gold.
 3. Boost your mids mate - I read it on the internet.
 4.
I got to play with Lewis Wright (vibes), Art Themen (sax), Mark Lockheart (sax), Chris Ingham (piano), Osian Roberts (sax), Steve Waterman (tpt), Alan Barnes (sax/clarinet), Georgia Mancio (voc), Dave O'Higgins (sax - in a trio FFS), Josh Kemp (sax), Roger Beaujolais (vibes), Kelvin Christiane (sax), Pete King (alto), Andi Hopgood (voc), Pete Oxley (gtr), Byron Wallen (tpt), Brandon Allen (sax), Jason Robello (piano), Jim Mullen (gtr), Julian Siegel (sax), Matt Wates (sax), Anita Wardell (voc), Eddie Parker (fl), Ivo Neame (piano), Mick Hanson (gtr), Malcolm Miles (sax), Andy Watson (gtr), Martin Shaw (tpt), Kevin Flanagan (sax), Andrea Vicari (piano), Julian Nicholas (sax), Dave Gordon (piano) and Tommaso Starace (sax).
5. Have you guys waiting paid in full for these or just deposits?
 6.
Finally - this is my first post and it has already gotten a few replies in a matter of minutes. Perhaps I can elevate my ranking to a top poster by being as controversial as possible! Simply a thought.......
7. I know where you're coming from Billy Apple. I'm totally against an "everyone smile, everyone nod," songs-of-praise type atmosphere. That's gotta be evident from my posts on this forum over the last 9 years. I love your argument for non-patronising comments - but on the flip side could you argue that these comments below are anything other than patronising? None could be described as constructive. Each is just laughing at the bloke:
Tbh meh

Well, that was a minute of my life I'll never get back...to quote someone or other: 'Just because you can, doesn't mean you should...'

Just watched about 30 seconds of this whilst at work, with the sound down. Interesting facial expressions. As though he's sat on a commode and, well, 'multi-tasking' whilst playing. Does it sound just as good??

This guy needs to get over himself and learn some soul.
8. These threads where we trash other artists are always completely f***ing depressing. Easily the worst thing about this forum. Even worse than my behaviour in Barefaced threads.
 9.
I used mine with Bergantinos NV 610 and 412 and the tone/power from that rig was unbelievable!
^ this.
 10.
I've been told by people - one being a lady at my local post office - that it's pointless paying extra for Saturday/Sunday delivery, because 9 times out of 10, they don't deliver.
I know we've been though this before but I've sent literally thousands of Saturday delivery parcels and not a single delivery has failed.
 11.
Not posted one in a while
4 distortions. LOL.
 12.
I'd find out what notes you actually need first and try and transcribe them for standard tuning before buying anything. Personally I've never felt an absolute need to drop tune a half step unless the bottom Eflat is an absolute must for the song.
^ this. I always play in standard tuning and I've been in bands with some wonkyily tuned guitars.
 13.
Is it jealousy, or what??
It's incredulity.
Here's my contribution: If you don't like the idea of buying a Barefaced cab, then don't.
Deal!
 14.
Barefaced Big Twin - 22.5kg - £999 Bergantino CN212 - 20.8kg - 1000 TKS S212 - 21kg - £412 Barefaced Super Compact - 11kg - £549 Barefaced Super Midget - 10.5kg - £599 Bergantino CN112 - 12.7kg - £625 TKS S112 - 10kg - £249
I didn't realise how much cheaper the TKS cabs were. I had to go back and make sure I'd done the conversion right. I'm still buying Bergantino but that's not what this thread is about.
 15.
Barefaced Super Compact - 11kg Bergantino CN112 - 12.7kg TKS S112 - 10kg

Hmm, maybe not the best chosen example there. The S112 is a small box for a 1x12" so the BF Super Midget would be a better comparison, at which point the weight difference is negligible. The BF should have more low-end output available too, presuming both makers specs are comparable.
Super Midget is 10.5kg, advertised weight.
 16. U5 is a top bit of kit.
 17.
Is the competition producing good looking cabs that are any lighter?
Barefaced Big Twin - 22.5kg Bergantino CN212 - 20.8kg TKS S212 - 21kg Barefaced Super Compact - 11kg Bergantino CN112 - 12.7kg TKS S112 - 10kg Further: I seem to remember from an old thread some discrepancy between "real world" and "advertised weight" on Barefaced products, but the memory fades. Maybe I'm not right.
 18.
Who said she didn't have the right papers?
Probably the plod who sent her back - and good on him.
 19.
There are some scabs just have to be picked, aren't there? In truth, I had noticed that it was a while since the last defend-Barefaced-to-the-death-against-all-evidence thread on Basschat, and I was wondering whether people had finally given up banging their heads against brick walls. What was I thinking? As I near the end of my career (at long bloody last) I am more than ever persuaded that cash is king, and that the public votes not with its feet but with cash. Opinions are indeed like aerosols. All that matters is, DO THEY SELL? I dread to think how much money Unilever have made from selling Marmite. But sell it they do, and in astonishing quantities. The British public can't get enough of the stuff. You can lecture them until you're blue in the face about how awful Marmite sounds, how you're "using the Marmite handles wrong" how Mr.Marmite can appear an overbearing-know-it-all who baffles along about science, how the rattly Marmite grills are stuck on with sticky pads, how you can't understand how good they are until you've played at least 50 gigs with Marmite on them... And you know what. Nobody gives a flying f*** what your opinion is. They know what they like, and they like Marmite, and they really do not care that a self-appointed expert is telling them they are wrong. Now, what was it we were talking about?
No beef Happy Jack, you know we've made our peace on this subject.
 20. I had that exact rig. It was one of my favourites.
 21. FILTH! BURN THE HEATHEN! PROTECT THE MATTTTHSTER.
 22.
I don't see how someone else picking up a cab by the wrong handle is something I should either accept or be appalled by. It's his cab and if that's what he wants to do, well so be it.
The cognitive dissonance of gear-nerds. "You're not using that handle for its intended purpose" Jokes, innit?
 23.
I don't want to fan any flames here, but I have to ask, why are people so accepting of this?
... because Alex Claber is the speaker prophet-messiah-guru-ghandi and can do no wrong.
