[..] Just as well, the buyers are willing put up with the niggles for their own reasons, but I don't know many who would for the price.
... and others.
Probably a moot point as Alex has a very full order book and his production is at full-tilt.
Heard the one about a fool and his money? How about the one about the emperors new clothes?
If you don't like the idea of Barefaced cabs, I'd say don't buy one. Go for top-class handles and an inferior cab instead.
False argument. It's not an either/or situation. I'll take Bergantino and have both, better.
 2. We need progress. Fans of Neepheid's Gibson Ripper Rescue Thread.
 3. The really criminal pictures are the ones of the belly cut and the horn. That's not damage, it's just plain bad woodwork.
 4.
You are prone to exaggeration aren't you.
No need to be patronising, eh?
 5. One of the best cabs I've ever played. Buy and be happy.
 6.
Lots of people looking to release their own line of flawlessly designed cabs by the looks of it Si
I only see people who expect when they pay big cash for premium products that they not fail within a year.
 7.
Toasted's wild exaggeration may well be his point of view (and he is of course perfectly entitled to exaggerate as freely as he likes) but he can hardly be surprised to find that some of us are not inclined to let such nonsense pass without comment.
Some may say I even framed my post in such a way to generate a reaction :-D. That aside, these are premium cabs. No part of them should fail after a year's use. No-one can argue with that, surely? Finally: I preferred it when Discreet had me on ignore.

 9. £870 cabs that fall apart after a year. Manufacturer offers to sell users a remedy. What a joke.

 12. You are Waynepunkdude and I claim my £5.
 13. How many have they asked you to learn?
 14. I did this with a DB750 and downgraded to an AG500. Always regretted it.
 15. My Celinder would be the last thing out of the house. I'd sell my bath before I sold it.
 16.
Hmmmm. Except that the OP clearly stated that at least one of the alternatives (LaBella) were more expensive than his brand of choice!
Don't let the details get in the way of a good thread Conan ;-)
 17.
Nope, I'm playing devils advocate to a certain extent though. A penny saved is a penny earned is a great philosophy. If there was some way to get the thing that you want for less money, why would you spend more than you have to? Basically, what you said was "You want them, just buy them, you probably have a few grands worth of gear", which is a pretty poor argument in my book. It's a bit like only getting one quote on new windows for your house, or not negotiating a deal for it. The house is worth a lot more than the glazing, so why not just pay whatever they want you to?
He can't get them any other way than paying the money.
 18.
Who's to say that he can afford the extra money, or even deems the strings worth the extra money? A lot of my favourite things are inexpensive, but if there was a sudden rise in price of them, I wouldn't get it. Might be my favourite, but that doesn't mean they are worth any amount of money. Buying a slightly cheaper, almost identical set of strings isn't really a compromise, just a way to get the same sound for less money, which is good sense.
Are you trolling me?
 19.
How is trying to save some money on strings compromising? He'll have the same strings at a cheaper price if he can get them. That's not compromising, that's good sense. A penny saved really is a penny earned, and that's a mantra you could literally take to the bank.
He's choosing not to buy his favourite strings and to buy ones that he doesn't like as much because of a $12 + import duty + vat shipping charge. He can't get the strings without paying this small extra amount of money. That's not economy, that's a compromise. My point: in the context of all the other money you spend on this hobby, in context of the good times we have with this hobby, for that small amount of money just buy the strings you want.
 20. So are the CN and the HD in the same size box?
 21.
A penny saved is a penny earned. It's not a cheap hobby, which is all the more reason to save money where possible.
Rubbish. He like the strings and nothing compares to them. Just pay the money and get what you want rather than compromising.
