  1. Oooh, might be very tempted in this after Christmas (I have one on my Chrimbo wishlist so still hopeful someone might buy me one 😁) but what would be the price collected? I'm not too far away from Leeds and work in Leeds city centre two days a week.
  2. Depends on what I'm playing. Usually I won't rest on anything if I'm playing the E string, I'll rest on the E when playing the A, and then if I'm just having a foray into D and G territory I'll leave my thumb on E but sometimes I'll rest on A to make sure E and A are muted.
  3. Again, I have no issue with people asking before bidding, it's the people who ask after they've won the auction that irk me.
  4. See, that I don't mind. It's people who bid and win before asking, and who withdraw their winning bid when I say no, who grind my gears.
  5. Ugh, the number of people who just happen to conveniently miss the collection only part of a listing is staggering.
  6. Freedom - George Michael
  7. Postman Pat Theme - Ken Barrie
  8. Is it possible to create draft posts that can be edited in several goes? This would be useful if creating a long post, or where you have to do some research on specs, etc.
  9. Walking on the Moon - The Police
  10. All hail Queen Este
  11. Beyond The Riverflow - Levellers
  12. First gig with it next Saturday so I will be happily experimenting during our soundcheck
  13. The upsetting thing is that the Lowden guitars he uses are clearly wasted on him.
  14. Somewhere in America, the hairs on Jeff Berlin's neck stand on end, indicating that someone, somewhere, has suggested that a bassist should be practising with a metronome...
  15. It might be hit and miss, I received a parcel in Yorkshire yesterday that left Shropshire the day before so some services seem to be moving OK.
  16. I purchased an as-new Barefaced Two10S cab from @thebrig and Brian couldn't have made this transaction go any easier. From accepting a deposit to hold the cab while I accumulated funds, to prompt shipment once I'd paid the remainder (it even arrived a day earlier than expected, which was a bonus!). The cab is stunning and exactly as described, and sounds amazing and LOUD. Communication throughout was superb and I'd have no hesitation dealing with Brian again.
  17. Courtesy of @thebrigof this parish, my new toy. Looking forward to trying it out and pissing off the neighbours later
  18. Axesrus also seem to have some available: https://www.axesrus.co.uk/Bass-Machineheads-s/1918.htm
  19. Yeah, I watch the Barefaced Youtube channel and try to understand but it's tricky for a muggle like me! My only real experience of such things is where, in my day job as a highway design engineer, I've done noise assessments to determine if noise barriers are required adjacent to motorways, but that was relatively simplistic (albeit I'm sure the formulae were developed by some serious boffins at TRL who smoked pipes and suchlike) compared to modern acoustic modelling methods.
  20. One of us! One of us!
  21. Thanks for clarifying, and apology accepted. I realise I have a lot to learn about such matters so am keen to soak up as much information about it as I can!
  22. Oh my sweet summer child...
  23. Reverend Black Grape - Black Grape
  24. Something like "even then it's not practicable to do what you're suggesting" would have done, no need to be a Richard about it.
  25. Welcome to the Wonderful World of Bass™. Scott's Bass Lessons is worth checking out (scottsbasslessons.com) and Jeff Berlin has a beginner reading book available (jeffberlinmusicgroup.com).
