  1. I have a set on my AVRI Precision and like you had previously used TIs. At first I thought ‘what have I done?’ as the E string sounded so dead and dull, I thought there was something wrong or I had wrecked the string when cutting it. However after a few weeks they all balanced out and I love them. The used TIs went on a Jazz Bass and that was a good move too!
  2. I like that....a lot!
  3. I enjoy the La Bella flats on my Precision but they are the Low Tension set!
  4. Thanks. I remember many years ago cutting down the length of a brand new roundwound E string and watching it unravel! I should have put a couple of 90 degree bends in it first..... It’s only ever happened once! Live and learn!
  5. Thank you and a light gauge too! No issues with the length as in the picture?
  6. Thank you. Strong recommendation for the La Bella MUS set.....
  7. Thank you. If the bass lands, I’ll share a picture on this thread!
  8. Brilliant - thank you. Would you say the tension is reasonably light? I have a set of LFTs on a Precision and certainly like the feel and sound.
  9. Thank you. This specific set of La Bellas had not hit my radar - they have now!
  10. Thanks very much - interesting to know that long scale flats may not be an issue....
  11. I might have an early ‘70s Mustang on its way in the not too distant and wonder what strings other BC’ers recommend? Should I avoid flats as many manufacturers state ‘not suitable for string through body’ and bearing in mind the extra length on account of going through the body, would all short scale strings (flats or rounds) be long enough? The picture shows what I imagine to be a short scale set fitted - if these had silk windings, the E string nut and heading towards the first fret would be silk! My preference would be a set of nickel roundwounds - lightish gauge. Any recommendations out there please? Thank you. David
  12. Karl - I can be around most days if that ‘helps’! 😁
  13. What a beauty.....
  14. You could always look to see if there is a nice, nearly new boxed one for sale on Basschat!!!! 😁 They are great little amps!
  15. I have never seen one of these. It looks lovely. GLWTS.
  16. I bought this new last year, mainly as a decent headphone amp to use on holiday, so it had had very little use and is in excellent condition. It can easily slip into a gig bag pocket as it is just so small! It is very quiet due to a tiny fan and so is great for practice at home when connected to a cab. A high quality Neutrik speakon cable is included. Postage at buyer’s cost and risk but it would be very carefully packed. Collection in person welcomed.
  17. This Limited Edition head is in exceptional condition and had very light home use only. It has been paired with a Barefaced One Ten (now sold) and has never been pushed hard - in fact, it has never left the house! It has the expected Markbass sound and controls, personally I really like the VLE and VPF controls that can shape the tone. According to Markbass, it produces 150w at 8ohm and 250w at 4ohm, either way, more than loud enough for use at home for me and the family! Comes in a lightweight aluminium carry case which has extra space to cut out other slots for cables etc. UK postage not a problem at buyer’s cost and risk but it would be well packed. Collection in person welcomed.
  18. This is in exceptional condition and has only been used by me in the house with a Markbass 250 Limited Edition head (soon to be listed on here for sale) so handling a mere 150 watts and at low volumes. As I have a couple of combos too, this set-up has seen very little use, in fact it still has the factory label on the handle! If the new owner is going to use a more powerful head, I would recommend being gentle to start with! It has been kept in the padded Cajon carry bag which has enough room to allow a medium sized head to be stored at the same time (picture shows the Markbass amp bag, not included in the sale, to illustrate space). Postage in the UK available at extra cost and at the buyer’s risk, it would be packed very carefully. Collection in person welcomed.
  19. Only used for a matter of hours before it sat collecting dust in daughter’s bedroom, so it great condition with just a few tiny dings that can easily be touched in if felt necessary. Good quality black hardware as expected from Ibanez and a nice range of sounds from the P/J Dynamix pickups. The short scale makes it ideal for all players and would make an excellent travel bass! These have an RRP around £199. Shipping in the UK is possible, at buyer’s cost and risk. I have plenty of bubblewrap and cardboard. Collection in person welcomed.
  20. Yes, it has the ‘standard’ Jazz width nut of 38mm or 1.5”.
  21. In overall excellent condition with light home use, an excellent one cabinet solution. Superb quality cabinet in terms of sound and build, yet only 12kgs. 12 inch speaker and 4 inch tweeter which can be selectable as off / half / full. Handy little metal rod stored underneath which slots in the back to tilt the cab! The cover has two very small tears to one side which have been carefully fixed. UK sale with postage at the buyers cost and risk. Collection in person welcomed.
