  1. Well they only took nearly three months to put on (life has the habit of getting in the way of fun stuff)and boy, the Hi Beams are everything I was looking/listening for. Thanks again for all the input.
  2. In my experience Open Mic nights are really very much singer/guitarist affairs, no backline and no rhythm section. See if there are any jam nights locally.
  3. Thundercat and Marcus Miller headlining this year's Love Supreme: https://lovesupremefestival.com/

  4. The courier business model (self employed drivers) should not be allowed. It isn't what HMRC used to recognise as valid self employment. No idea when the rules changed.
  5. And still no reply. What's that about 'if it sounds too good to be true...'
  6. Mantronix Got To Have Your Love - not a bass guitar line but an absolute classic (two bar repeat).
  7. Pinged the seller a message. Fingers crossed.
  8. All of them or just the one that later worked at Mojo?
  9. My introduction to bass when I was probably around 11, and there were skiffle nights at the social club my parents went to. Bearing in mind we are talking nearly 50 years ago, pitch wise I would like it to Tom toms, so you play two distinct sounds, emulating root/fifth but there was no real note there. And as @Dad3353 says, most definitely teachest back then.
  10. Followed up with whoever plays the loudest.
  11. The R410 I'm guessing is the older Richter series. Decent budget speaker for its time, very solid, but heavy, and now left behind by more recent designs.
  12. Interesting point @MacDaddy As someone who agreed with the comment on the other thread, perhapsit should be 'music should not be competitive'
  13. I must check their earlier stuff, thanks. I like the slightly bonkers mix of styles.
  14. Black Country New Road - not sure how to categorise -folky, punky, rock, world music? Another 6Music find.
  15. True the bit about not a competition but Frog Chorus was a great piece of music, way better than some of his old tut.
  16. Lawsuit 🤨
  17. Nice one Blue. Good luck.
  18. Probably a topic for another thread, but is there anything left that hasn't been done before? AI possibly? But as the OP, I did put this thread up more for newly made music in response to @DTB's earlier thread, and not some quest for the former.
  19. Mick Fleetwood and Friends playing the music of Peter Green on Sky Arts (hopefully doing their usual number of repeats). Some lovely playing, and Mick having the time of his life!
  20. Gabriel's. Uncategorised, heard on 6Music, but fell fully in love with their Glastonbury performance.
  21. Acoustic and screening of his film. I'm waiting until he comes with full band.
  22. Haha, having made that suggestion in the OP I then went and ignored it with my own first post 🤔
  23. Ok, probably a bit mild for some tastes, but heard this, of all places on the in-store Tesco radio station today (they play a lot of good stuff). I think this has a fabulous groove, albeit a very laid back one. Also a nice cover of it by Earl Klugh:
