  1. A bit off topic, and it might just be me, but wouldn't Blue Snake Trace be a good name for a rock band?
  2. Bought a set of strings from Kris. Super smooth deal. Thank you!
  3. So, initial impressions are excellent. The cab feels really well put together: It’s crazy light, 11kg is just insane for something this big! Metal corners and grille. A sort of medium pile carpet finish. Not sure how robust it’ll be, but time will tell. The rear panel is recessed in the same way as the front, so the speakon connectors have a little bit of protection. The cab has an 11cm port in the bottom. The cable and connectors inside look very heavy duty. Big thick feet to give it good clearance. The sound is wonderful. Full, rich bass, plenty of mids and just nice warm highs. As I said in an earlier post, I went without a tweeter as it goes to 6.5k with the 10", which is fine for me. It’s a perfect match for my fretless, as I hoped it would be. Hans says if it gets too boomy in a room the port can be plugged to tame it. Here are a few dodgy pics. I will take more when I can get it out in the sunshine.
  4. I have two of Dave's superb cables for sale, both made with the heavy duty 4mm Klotz cable. The cables have had very little use. Right angle Speakon to straight jack (flexible part of the cable is 43cm) Speakon to right angle jack (flexible part is 64cm) £12 posted for each, or £22 posted the pair To show you how much beefier these cables are, here is one next to the more typical 2.5mm speaker cable.
  5. My cab arrived today. It's beautifully made, sounds fantastic, and weighs 11kg! Review later.
  6. "All boxed up and ready to ship with a price drop for the weekend" type bump
  7. The D2 is the new big brother to the NY121. I understand that it has a superior tweeter. It's quite a lot bigger though, so if matching cab sizes is important to you it may not be the one. You could also consider the TRV112, which has the same footprint as the combo if you set it up in "portrait" mode. I would still say that the Marcus head is far more versatile than the LM, so if you can upgrade that as well at some point that would be cool.
  8. Both are great, but the 800 is the one I’d go for every day of the week.
  9. The Marcus is a fantastic amp that would only made a good combo better.
  10. I haven't seen "Devs", but I was watching an episode of "The Expanse" last night and was surprised to hear Purple's "Highway Star" used, twice, in space travel scenes. Worked well though!
  11. I see Guy Pratt's brace of CL310s from the last SFOS tour have appeared in the B-stock pages.
  12. Well you are most welcome to try mine when we get out of lockdown, assuming it hasn’t sold by then. Oh and the Baers are front-ported, not sealed.
  13. If it's any help I tried my Baer with a Markbass TRV112 and it sounded terrific.
  14. Another smooth deal with Mike. He's a good 'un!
  15. Might it be cheaper and easier to buy a preamp or eq pedal?
  16. Yep, that’s not a problem at all. In fact that was my original plan when I was thinking a pair of 12s.
  17. Yes, they do. Drop Hans an email and tell him what you want and he'll guide you. Look for "MH" designations on this page. Cheers Gareth
  18. Excellent. I was tempted by the cab too, but in the end went down a different path. I find the bass and feedback knobs have the biggest influence on the tone of the LS. Gain is quite senstive, and there's a big jump in volume with the Master at about 1pm on mine.
  19. Shipping out tomorrow!
  20. Nice. Isn't this parlor size and short scale?
  21. Thanks Mert, but tbh I can't justify it either!
  22. I've always loved the look of the Drophead 200....
