  1. I bought this a couple of months ago and have been very pleased with it. As I was new to soldering I didn't want to drop a lot of money on one that I will only use occasionally, but I've been impressed with it so far.
  2. I love the Litte Marcus range of heads from Markbass. The EQ points are bang on. Only selling as I really don't need three amps! Pretty much mint/very good condition. Comes with custom Bright Onions footswitch to switch between EQ channels (£50). Price is posted in the UK, in the original box. EQ1 ULTRALOW: Level ±16 dB (Freq. 65Hz) LOW: Level ±16 dB (Freq. 180Hz) MID: Level ±16 dB (Freq. 500 Hz) HIGH MID: Level ±16 dB (Freq. 1.4 KHz) HIGH: Level ±16 dB (Freq. 3.8 KHz) EQ2 OLD SCHOOL: Variable LOW PASS From 20KHz to 200Hz MILLERIZER: 5-12 KHz BAND PASS Filter (Level 0 /+10 dB) OUTPUT POWER: 250W RMS @ 4 ohms / 150W RMS @ 8 ohms £240 posted.
  3. PRICE UPDATE: £130 posted Only recently picked this up, but I don't need as many cabs as I have right now. Height: 360mm (14.1") Width: 390mm (15.3") Depth: 360mm (14.1") Weight: 10.7KG (23.5lbs) Power: 150w Impedance: 8 Ohms Cab is in very good condition. Comes with brand new Hot Covers padded sleeve worth £40. These are £249 new at Andertons.
  4. This is very good. Even if you don't like Level (which I do), you can appreciate the level (ahem) of musicianship on display. Not sure about the drummer's strides though
  5. I absolutely love this amp, but GAS is a terrible thing..... This has to be one of the most versatile heads out there. Two channels, which you can use independently (i.e. a bass in each channel) or combined (i.e. clean and dirty). Twelve different amp models to choose from - six on each channel 500 watts at 4 ohms, 300 watts at 8 ohms Choice of fx from Compressor, Chrous, Octaver, Reverb, Envelope Filter or Delay - one on each channel. Amp choices and effects can be changed via MIDI The footswitch allows you to engage CH1 or CH2 or MIX both, turn FX1, FX2 and BOOST on and off, accessthe TUNER with MUTE function pressing and holding the boost switch. Built in tuner Dedicated headphone out and aux in for silent rehearsal Separate FX for each channel I've added yellow dots to make it easier to see how each channel is set, but these will rub off easily enough if you don't like them. Sale includes the footswitch and carry bag. I am firm of £500 posted in the UK.
  6. My band is learning "It's my life" by Talk Talk, so I've re-learnt it some 36 years after I originally learned to play it :)

Superb line.  Love that Ray tone!

Am learning this one at the moment, have played it before but am learning it "properly" now and its amazing how much ive been playing wrong, when learning a song the mind has a tendency to fill in the blanks with the most conventionally pleasing notes but when you go to actually learn something properly you find that the original bassist does things like dropping a note a semitone where you wouldn't expect it to create a bit of discord.

Top tune and great bass playing

  7. Two rugged pedals from the Markbass MB7 range. The EQ/Boost pedal from Markbass is new and has never been used. The Distorsore is second hand but looks as new. Original boxes, no velcro has been attached. Original rubber feet attached. £75 each, posted, or £140 for the pair. Thanks for looking.
  8. These are most excellent little units. I popped one into my fretless after telling John what sort of tone I was after, and he recommended different capacitors from the standard set. He absolutely nailed it. I love the "straight through" tone, but the capacitors take off just the right amount of top to just give me lovely fretless warmth, but still with clarity and never getting into mud. Great stuff, and higly recommended.
  9. Just bought one of John's new tone switch kits. I told him what sort of sound I was after for my fretless and sent him a photo of the wiring: he suggested slightly different caps from usual and sorted me out a custom wiring diagram too. He's a Basschat legend.
  10. I love my new Ashdown Tonepocket, but I've noticed tonight that there's an earthing issue if I use it when it's plugged in and charging. If I touch the metal knobs or the bridge on my bass I can hear the classic buzz, but if I use it unplugged for the PSU so it's just running on the battery it's whisper quiet. Anyone got any ideas what's up? Dodgy PSU?
  11. Really? You must play in some loud bands!
  12. Just fitted a brand new white nylon B string that came in another set this morning. Straight swap over and it is perfect.
  13. Fretless Precision. You can see it at 29:34 here
  14. Thanks for these comments guys. I have used these strings on the bass for four years, so my action and playing style is perfectly adjusted to them. The bass is a through body, so I never twist the string around the tuning post when tuning up; just bend it into the tuner and then wind without any wrapping around the tuner by hand. You can hear it through the amp. It doesn't sound quite the same as it does acoustically, but it certainly doesn't sound right.
  15. Just popped a fresh set of La Bella white nylons on my fretless and the low B has something very funky going on. I’ve taken it off and restrung it three times and the weird rattling noise is still there. I popped the B from the old set back on and that’s fine. Bass Direct (who i bought the strings from) kindly sent my video to La Bella, and they said my action is too low which of course is rubbish as the old B plays fine. Pretty poor response from La Bella if I’m honest... Weird. IMG_0393.MOV
  16. Oh dear. Can he send you any evidence that it was shipped? He must have an email or a printout of the label he used?
  17. That looks awesome!
  18. SOLD These strings have less than an hour of playing time on them. They're nice and have a good tension, I just prefer the tone of nylon flats. 45/65/80/100/132 Cut for three over two headstock Strings are 38" long from ball end to silk Cheapest I can find new is £53, so I think £35 posted is fair.
  19. Hello all Anyone have any experience of these strings? If so, how smooth are they, and what's the tension like? Thanks Gareth
  20. Sold a set of strings to @MikanHannille. A very simple, straightforward transaction, only marred by the week it took Royal Mail to deliver them! Would happily deal with him again.
  21. Wow. Clearly the courier's fault but Andertons will need to sort it.
