1. I have [s]eight[/s] four of these tuners, all removed from American Special basses. I believe they are the same of the ones fitted to the Mexican Standard series, but am not 100% sure on that. [s]This sale is for the tuners and screws only. I am not selling any bushings.[/s] Sale is for complete sets (Fender tuners and screws, Hipshot HB7 bushings). To buy eight new would cost £50, so I am selling at £30 for 8, £16 for 4, or a fiver each. Postage is extra. Thanks Gareth
2. I'm not a fan of Geezer Butler by any means, but I have heard good things about this pickup and was wondering who on BC has tried one, and what they thought of it?
3. Sorry, deleted first post somehow! I think eBay is your best bet.
4.
Sorry to derail the thread, but I have been trying to find someone with one of these in the uk. Did you have to pay and duty or anything extra to get it from the US? also do you remember which store you bought it from? Oh also do you need anything special to convert current? Many thanks.
It came from the US branch of Chuya Online via eBay, and I bought a PSU off eBay for a tenner. You would normally pay duty and VAT on import.
5. Brilliant amps.
6. Bought for an aborted neck project. Brand new and never fitted. Clover leaf style tuner. Four in a row for a right hand bass. Tuner post is 1/2"(13mm) and fits 11/16"(18mm) peghead holes. Includes screw-in bushing, face washer, and mounting screw. Really excellent quality and much cheaper than the US versions. 57g each. Please note that, unlike the US versions, these are not reversible. A firm £40 posted, or £37 collected from Central London or NE Hampshire.
7. I have a Providence Dual Bass Station, which I run with two basses, and it is a terrific piece of kit. It's 24 volt operation, so there's tons of headroom, 3 band eq with sweepable mids, mute, and tuner out. I much prefer it to the Tonebone I used to have, which I felt always sucked some tone out of the bass. They are £300 in the UK, but I lucked into a new one from the US for £150 via eBay
8. I have noticed this is happening on one of my P basses. The front of the stock bridge lifts up as I tighten the screws. I have checked the surface of the bass body, and the baseplate, and both are flat, so I am hoping string pressure will put it flat again when I fit the new neck on.
9.
I'll take them wal, will pm you.
And sold to Matt
10. My two American Special P basses weigh exactly the same at 8lbs 8oz each. This makes me happy.
11. I bought two of these to fit to my Precisions, but I've decided to stick with the standard bridges. Mint one sold. The other has been fitted but taken straight off again. It is effectively brand new. Comes with screws and allen key. I'm firm on £40 plus postage. That's about a £13 less than the best UK price, and they have no stock! Thanks all.
12. Excellent straps made in the UK. 4" wide and made with leather on one side and suede on the other, they have a foam strip between to give a lovely soft cushion to your bass. Maximum length is around 50". These two are in pretty much mint condition. Prices seem to be hover around around £22 new, so how about £20 posted each or £38 posted the pair? Collection always welcome from NE Hampshire or Central London. Thanks Gareth
13. I gave my new S112 a good workout this weekend and I am very impressed. I'm struck by the decent amount of low end, good projection, and how well it takes EQ too. And the I paired it with the 1156! Very happy
14. I have the following genuine Fender 13 hole scratchplates for sale: 1 x Parchment - extra holes drilled for thumb rest on G string side 1 x Parchment - used but not abused Both fit the American Standard and American Special models. £22 each posted, or £20 collected from NE Hampshire or Central London Here's one of the parchment plates next to a mint green one, which is mint green and not grey as this picture suggests! Thanks Gareth
15. There can't be too many off the peg choices for a 5 string P, but if I had my choice I'd say mint green or possibly parchment on that lovely.
16. I returned a defective bass recently, so that cost me nothing (other than the £40 I lost on the exchange rate!), but if you are simply returning because you are unhappy I assume it will cost the full price of your courier of choice, or perhaps a fixed charge if Thomann arrange it.
