    I really do love this bass, my BSX Allegro, but I have decided to switch to a 4 string. Currently strung with Silver Slaps. It's in very good condition for an 11 year old bass, a few very small bumps here and there, but nothing major. The worst damage is a dent in the reinforced plastic base near the end pin. Original TKL gig bag is included. £2149 new in the UK, I am looking for a firm [b]£1200[/b], collected from Central London or NE Hampshire. I'm afraid I have nothing suitable in which I could post it, so please don't ask. Thanks Gareth

    Thanks, one and all, for the replies. I don't need any tone shaping, so it's purely what's best to use running from the "preamp out" or "effects send" of my amp. Looks like the Radial ProDI is a front runner.

    Hello all I'd like to invest in a DI, so that on the rare occasion I need to go through a PA, I can send a signal to the desk using the "preamp out" on the back of my amp. Any recommendations? Thanks Gareth

    Ronnie Lane is one of my bass playing heroes (see my avatar). Not the greatest technical player in the world, but very melodic and creative. Plus I love his solo stuff after he quit Faces - stuck two fingers up to the industry and said "I'll do it my way, thanks all the same".

    People have been swapping necks on Ps and Js for decades. I would imagine it'd be fine, but probably best to take measurements of both before you splash the cash.

    So, last night's gig was in a converted church. I'd played there before, so I knew it could be a difficult room, and I was a bit worried that the TKS wouldn't sound that good in there. I am pleased to say I was very wrong . A little bass and mid cut and we were away with a terrific sound, full but not boomy at all. Everyone in both my bands love this cab.

    The Demeter is a naturally clean and bright amp, but it's just the really high frequencies on the BSX that are the problem (my electrics are fine). If I cut the treble on the onboard EQ it loses body from the overall sound, rather than the sheen on top, which stays there and just makes finger noise over the strings sound scratchy.

    Okay, it's a Demeter VTBPM800D into a TKS1156. I often use a Radial Bigshot i/o, as I switch between the BSX and an electric bass a lot, but nothing else gets in the way.

    So, I love my Allegro, I really do, but I find that the ultra high top end is impossible to EQ out. The bass is stock, with a piezo bridge and an active 3 band Bartolini system installed, but if I cut the treble on the bass it still doesn't get the really high stuff, which is too nasty and brittle to my ears. Cutting treble EQ on my amp also doesn't get rid either, so what gives? Is it the piezo, and I just have to live with it? Any ideas, Team Basschat? Cheers Gareth
