1. Happy to take a more basic 4 string EUB in part exchange
2.
Consider trades at all?!
Possibly, what are you thinking? (PM me if you prefer)
Do you have a Paypal Acc'? I might take your M288.
Where are you located?
3. My nan had this on the left hand pinkie, and I have noticed that my left hand pinkie has recently started to hurt when I press down hard on the fingerboard (most notable on upright). I had thought it was the start of arthritis, but maybe it's this?
4. All pedals are in good condition and full working order. Velcro on bottom rather than feet. Boxed. Compressor £100+£5 P&P Octave Deluxe £75+£5 P&P Overdrive £70+£5 P&P or £245 for all three, posted in the UK. Prices are firm. Thanks Gareth
5. I like a bit of Mozart, Elgar or Vaughan Williams if I'm honest...
6. Last time I saw EC was in The Windmill on Pitch Hill. He was having a pint mind
7. Thanks for the replies so far. Sorry if I wasn't clear, but I only want to use the effects on one channel of the Providence.
8. Hello all So, I have gone on a bit of an FX splurge recently and purchased the following: MXR Bass Overdrive MXR Bass Compressor MXR Bass Octave Deluxe I also have a Providence Dual Bass Station, which is effectively a dual input, two channel EQ preamp pedal, which allows me to switch between fretted/fretless or electric/upright with ease. What I'd like to do is put the pedals on one channel of the preamp only, so my questions are:

what's the best order for the pedals? (I was thinking Octave>Overdrive>Compressor, but I know there are no "rules" here!)
should they come before the Providence or after?
Cheers Gareth
9. Burgundy Mist, Mint Green scratchplate, dots and bound neck with lollypop tuners. Job done
10. Well, the La Bella site says this of the Low Tension Flats: Using the same techniques that have made the Deep Talkin’ Bass Stainless Steel Flat Wounds the best-selling flat wound set on the market, La Bella has adjusted the construction to create a lighter and more flexible alternative to our classic heavier flats. The Light Tension Flexible Flats deliver the same classic sound but without the floppy-string effect associated with other light tension flat wound strings. These hand-wound and hand-polished strings are equipped with round cores for flexibility, and narrower ribbon wire to achieve that unrivaled smooth feeling uniquely characteristic to La Bella Strings. So my guess it's mainly down to a narrower core.
11. I'd take four, possibly six, plugs, and some short lengths of cable if you're willing to split?
12.
Me too!! On the current short list (based on availability and price) are an Ashdown JJB 500 and a Fender 800 Pro. Both amps are unfamiliar to me, but I used Trace Elliot for years, so the graphic on the Ashdown had me all nostalgic! The Fender offers more power and probably a cleaner sound...
Don't know about the 800 Pro, but I had a JJB500 for a while and it provides a very clean tone.
13. Yes, the Hipshots are much better. They are not cheap, but you really do get what you pay for.
14. What's the difference between fuzz, distortion and overdrive? If I was looking for something akin to very light valve breakup, which would I get?
15. Not sure this helps, but the manual says: For countries using 220V, 230V, and 240V AC mains, select the 230V switch position on the Voltage Selector switch. There is no externally accessible AC mains (line) fuse, the internal fuse is integral to the SMPS power supply and is not user serviceable. This fuse will not fail except under very unlikely fault conditions to the SMPS, and if this occurs a qualified service technician is required to correct the problem.
16.
There is a strange sound on that recording. It sounds like an artefact of some kind and seems to follow each note. The basic tone of the amp sounds cleanish but it is hard to be objective with the after note noise.
I think that's the Zoom recorder vibrating on its tripod stand, it's definitely not the amp or the cab.
17. I have no GAS at the moment
18. Just looking around the "in stock" pages on the Status website and found this!
19.
That looks the business. Is it of a similar ilk to the Mesa Prodigy?
Not really, as it has a digital power section.
20. I would recommend the Demeter without reservation. It is without doubt the best amp I have ever owned.
21. Try the Gator website. They do loads of padded bags.
22. You're all just jealous, jealous I tell ya!
23. Bring the thunder I have yet to use both cabs together, but figured I'd post a "stack" shot anyway.
