1. A request has come in for a picture of the dent, which I have measured at 3.5cm And the nut:
2. I do. Terrific bass. Well made, sturdy, rock solid feel. The adjustable neck system is great to allow for quick changes in action. The EQ system is 3 band, so no problem being heard in the way you want to be.
3. Welcome to the club I've been using one for about 18 months now - it hasn't missed a beat and just sounds so good! Yes, it's pretty clean, but there is a wonderful weight and clarity to every note. I have owned dozens of amps over the years, but this one beats them all.
4.
swap for my 1950s Czech db? https://youtu.be/KT0z1ozm2O8
Thanks for the offer, but EUBs only for me I'm afraid.
5. Superb heads. One of the best I've owned (and I've owned a lot )!
6. I wish someone would buy my American Special!
7. The nut is irrelevant once you fret a note anyway, is'nt it?!
8.
Have you personally had any work done by them?
They made me a bass and put a fretless fingerboard on another. Superb work both times. They also made the guitarist in my band a lovely acoustic, which has some very nice inlay work. If you look through the news archive on their site you will see dozens of fantastic examples.
9. Brook Guitars in Devon. Their work is superb.
10. That is absolutely beautiful Si, may you make much sweet music on it
11. £700 I've decided to move back to 5 strings, so am putting up my wonderful 2012 American Special for sale. These basses are terrific. A lovely thin satin nitro finish on a three-piece alder body. The neck is 41.3 mm wide at the nut and has a lovely shallow, "slim C" shape, which is very playable. This bass weighs 8.5lbs, balances well on a strap, and sounds terrific. Pickup is the American Standard Alnico Split Single-Coil. I have upgraded with Hipshot HB7 Lollypop tuners, Dunlop straplocks, and thumb rest. Original parts (apart from the tuners, which have been sold) will be included in the sale though. Due to the thin finish, it does have some minor marks and bumps, but it's all down to it being such a playable bass! It's currently strung with Dr Sunbeams, not the flats shown here. Pick not included in sale Due to the upgrades, I am asking £700 firm for this beauty, including a Mono Sleeve, collected from NE Hampshire. Happy to post at your expense (about £15). I'd be happy to trade for a 5 string ACG, fretted or fretless, in Krell or Recurve styles. Thanks all Gareth
12. NS WAV or NXT, or an Aria SWB?
13. Sorry, no. I need to close this thread.
14. Lots of great lightweight 1x12 cabs out there, all with slightly different flavours of tone.... it's a good time to be a bass player
15. Excellent little cabs. Throw out a load of air and have a good, full-range sound.
16. These are seriously good quality bags. I had one and only sold it because my needs changed. Very good quality bit of kit.
17. I sold a bridge to Mikkel, and it was a very smooth transaction. Communication was excellent every step of the way, and I would have no hesitation in dealing with him again.
18. I'd be very surprised if the Drophead version of the CTM 15 head is any different to the standalone head. I suspect that it's a typo, but would recommend checking with Ashdown to be sure.
19. Hi guys Two fantastic items, just a couple of weeks old and hardly used, that I have decided I won't use enough to warrant keeping.
