  1. Relight My Fire - Dan Hartman
  2. Similar here, with the ska band anyway. I listen to it, play along with it, then write my part out for rehearsal & practice. Sometimes if there's a tricky part that I can't quite make out, I'll check out a few tabs. And yes, most of them turn out to be wrong in one way or another. Some are total works of fiction. With the soul band, our MD does all the arrangements so we all get sheet music for our parts. He knows I'm not a reader, so bless 'im he puts all the note names along the stop, like this. I can follow a chart quite well now even if I can't tell what the actual notes are. Name that tune
  3. Pass The Peas - JB Horns
  4. Too Drunk to F**k - Dead Kennedys
  5. I'm So Happy I Can't Stop Crying - Sting
  6. Just Can't Get Enough - Depeche Mode
  7. Unskinny Bop - Poison
  8. Oops, sorry, yes that's right. *ahem* NO, OF COURSE THERE IS NO SECRET HQ. THERE IS NO CHAMPAGNE OR CAVIAR. Phew. Nearly gave the game away there.
  9. Well the champagne in the fridge at our secret mountain-top BCHQ doesn't buy itself, y'know.
  10. I'm hoping this one will last if I can keep the feckin mice off it.
  11. No issues at all. This was the exact stuff I used, in fact it's the same can of glue I used to make my previous Grammabodge well over 10 years ago. The foam is still stuck fast to that one... well what's left of it anyway, since the mice got to it...
  12. There's been a length of the Auralex platfoam stuff lurking in a corner of my spare room/office for donkey's ages, so today I finally got my arris in gear and spent a very pleasant afternoon putting a DIY Gramma together. Turned out really well. Marine ply; foam; offcut of carpet; Evostik spray glue; staples/staple gun; corner plates; screws.
  13. Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow! - Vaughn Monroe
  14. V.nice bit of lovers' rock. Song's better than the video, which TBH looks like a moving Freemans catalogue.
  15. OT for a second... Did you ever get a resolution of that in the end? Things were moving from what I recall of our last exchange. PM if you'd rather not say publicly.
  16. Fight The Power - Public Enemy
  17. Listening to The Beat's "Ranking Full Stop" with a view to working it into the ska band's set. It's never struck me before just how much the lyric sounds like "ranking foolscap"...

  18. They did that in a single cab with the BFC, back when heavy cabs were still cool. It didn't exactly fly out of the doors. Neither did the bright box IIRC. I don't think people want massive stacks any more. I agree that a FRFR 15+8+HF would have been really nice. And the dual band compressor. And, hopefully *keeps fingers tightly crossed* some Trace DNA... From what I can see, the only differences between the B Transit and this new boy are a mid control, a tuner and the overdrive. The mid would have been nice, but the other two are not things I'd want in an amp anyway.
  19. 76lbs would be fine if it was cheap. $1499 would be fine if it was a lightweight single cab solution. As it is, if you want 4ohms it'll cost 3 large and weigh as much as a rhino. Nah.
  20. I don't have a P-J bass, but I do have a P-MM. Those pickups sound awesome together.
  21. Gert lush, even. Very very much so.
  22. Walking in the Air - Aled Jones
  23. Rather that than a big hall of tippy tappy heros that you can't get away from.
