You had a ganglion on your ärse finger? Bummer. :D

      Wishing you a speedy recovery.

I have a ganglion in my right hand, just underneath my little fingers.  It used to flare up when I (an electrician) rewired properties and used my SDS hammer drill to chisel out chases in brick for cables.  I would get pain up my arm for several days afterwards and it would stop me sleeping.

Most of my work these days involves inspection and testing, with a lot less 'house bashing' so now it's not noticeable but its not gone away.

Hope you recover from your surgery quickly.

  2. My Pro 2E has two carbon rods running the length of the neck... I think EW had abandoned these by the time the Customs got well into production?
  3. Yes, there's been a lot of debate on the other thread... general consensus is that the stock one looks lazy and that almost anything else would be better. The Starcaster h'stock seems to be popular, but the Tele one works quite well too. Even the old 80s pointy Performer one would be better.
  4. I was going to suggest the Korg Pandora PX4B, mine is just the ticket... but they appear to be going for silly money when they pop up on fleaBay.
  5. @BRIAN RICHARDS @joeabass Please discuss all trades via PM and not on the thread. Thanks. Site rule 16.(c) refers.
  6. I would absolutely definitely take the Wal-ish as it sounds right now, it's as close to the original as dammit is to swearing. Obviously I'd take the Wal too because I love 'em, but you should definitely be proud of achievements so far. As eude says above, if you had the pickups & innards built into a multilaminate neck & body akin to the Wal it'd sound just right. Get thee to Mr Shuker/Cringean/otherluthiersareavailable. And stop posting videos of how good it sounds, because you're making me want one
  7. Quite frankly astounded that Carly Simon isn't in there already. My 5 were Carly, Kate, Dolly, MC5, Fela.
  8. Oh for god's sake. Why couldn't you have told us it was crap? Why? Now I can hear my credit card whimpering from the other room. Rack ears do look a bit, errm, yes... I think I'd be getting busy with the T-Cut to get rid of the logo.
  9. My pleasure Jon. As I said when I dropped it off, if there's ever something you need, gimme a shout and I'll help if I can. I'm only just down the road. And your granddaughter is an absolute sweetheart..!
  10. Who Let The Dogs Out? - Anslem Douglas
  11. Camouflage - Stan Ridgway
  12. I have two or three similarly dented basses (there's even a couple on my Wal ), none of those are through to the wood either. There are dents, and there are dents.
  13. Baby-cuz.
  14. Paging the @Doodster.
  15. Cho-REE-tho Orreh-GAR-no TUR-merrick Am I right?
  16. Yup, me too.
  17. D'Angelico is another... I've always said 'Dan-jeh-LEEko', I hope that's right. Their guitars are beautiful and I'd hate to be disrespectful. Oh god yes... "Can I have the broo-shetter please..." *cringe*
  18. Dance Like Fred Astaire - Delegation
  19. Is that because their surname is spelled EEbanyeth..?
  20. And Wishbass is 'bagosh-height'.
  21. Van-der-clay is my assumption too. In my head, I've always pronounced Aguilar as 'a-gee-yar', assuming a quasi-Spanish approach. Anyone know for sure? As opposed to the 'joy-oh' and 'soor' (to rhyme with pure) that I'd always assumed. I've seen people arguing that it's 'EE-ban-yeth' too. God only knows. It'd be nice to know how the company say it!
  22. Nah, a Brummie thing would be 'like-land'.
  23. As previously discussed, spoiled by the headstock. I reckon the old Performer shape suits it quite well.
  24. There's a few manufacturers with names that are open to a range of different pronunciations. Here's a few with my interpretations, and I'd appreciate corrections if anyone has any. Wal - I used to think it rhymed with 'pal', but then I heard Pete the Fish rhyme it with 'doll' so I guessed that must be correct. Sei - I've heard it variously pronounced as 'say' and 'sigh'. I'm 90% sure it's the former, but I'm fully expecting to be 100% wrong. Lakland - from what I understand, it's 'lake-' rather than 'lack-'. Yes..? Maruszczyk - I'm reliably informed that it's 'maroosh-chick', I hope that's right because whenever anyone asks what make my gorgeous strap is, that's what I tell them. Knowing my luck it's probably pronounced 'eggbox' or something. Babicz - OK, definitely stumbling in the dark a bit here. I'm guessing at 'ba-bítch'..? Mayones - is it 'may-owns'? Or 'mayo-ness'? Sadowsky - I'm assuming 'sad-of-ski', yes? Anyone else got any other pispronounced worms?
  25. My first decent amp had an 11-band graphic on it. It took about 5 years before I found out how to work it properly, and realised that pushing the low end faders up to +15 really wasn't a good thing at all.
