1. Ok - cheers... the strings are pretty slack as it is, they dont look like theyve been changed for about 20 years! lol
2. Hi guys, I have finally found someone to refinish my Musicmaster. Thing is, he just needs the body and not the neck or hardware to do the job. Is there anything I should particularly know, or be wary of, when taking the neck, bridge, strap fittings and pickguard off my little baby before it gets sent for a new dress? Ive never had to disassemble any of my guitars before y'see. Cheers, Stag

Yum. Even the colour is sexy, shame about the bridge "mess"
4. Not quite as cheap (or even a Status) but some very nice brand new 5-string G&L's with flight case at the BC for less than 400 notes... on another thread somewhere by OutToPlayJazz
5. It also comes with a free moulded case! Blimey, a very good deal in my book....
6. Mmm, I have really been thinking about adding a 5 to my collection and that would fit the bill perfectly. Shame ive got to buy a house this month really! Dammit
7. Maybe one of these? 10% shorter than a P-bass, apparently.... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Fender-P-Bass-Junior...oQQcmdZViewItem

This one though has a normal bridge & only having 22 frets in a 32" scale might actually fit in a Thunderbird gigbag. Pete.
Ive GOT one of these!!! Except, for some reason, it was defretted before I got my hands on it. Let's just say it most certainly doesnt sound how it looks anymore! Will post some pics on Bass Porn at some point, its a bit beat up now I must say
9. Bloody hell thats seen some action in its time! Lovely piece of kit. Are they "fag end" marks in the top of the headstock - look familiar, I think all my basses have got them on them! lol
Pillow laid down on the floor in the bedroom. Our relationship is going well.
LOL - still at the "first love" phase... Explains why Jim was too busy to refinish my Musicmaster - cos he was too busy building that beast!
11. You really cant beat a good bit of Ric porn
12. I luuurrrrrve Burnel's sound as well. Twangy in the extreme !!!
13. I went for 4 cos I started on a 4, my dream bass as a kid was the classic Cliff Burton Ric 4001 - so I got one when I could afford it. havent really ever thought too much about going for a 5-string... would like to try one out in a while. Might have to go crazy one time and have a plunk on the Doodle DJV! :-)
14. Very good to see this. Ive had a problem on eBay once before and got caught (wont get caught again - FACT) so its good to see a positive outcome on this one. Wonder if the buyer will sign up here since you all contacted him?
15. MMM, thats a beaut. Its in incredibly good nick as well innit? Would love to have a plunk on one of them someday... like the idea of a thinner neck as my 4001 is a bit "phat".
16. My missus quite liked the Fender Musicmaster I picked up a while back, if you can get one of them on the cheap...
17. im amazed there's only 9 Ric players here????

Trace Cab

Hi guys and gals, Im trying to properly identify my big Trace bass cab in my rig. Its got a 15in cone at the bottom and a 10in horn type thing at the top right of the cab, and a perfectly formed round hole to the left of said 10in horn. The old Trace red striping is present. It has XLR and jack outs on the back, plus a (used to be) covered pair of jacks for what I can only assume would be for high gain speakers, but the cover has broken off so I cant really ascertain what they are for. Something to do with a crossover I think...? Anyone know what this model is.... and what the correct ohm rating is etc? Ive opened the bottom of it up and the 15in speaker at the bottom is 300w with 8ohm impedence, but cant get into the section where the 10in speaker/horn/whatever it is is present. The 15in-er (ooer!) is a replacement for the orginal speaker as well, i blew that up ages ago. Cheers guys
23. I had this sort of situation a while ago, drummer's heart really wasnt in it by the end and he just left of his own accord. Simply ask him if he wants to leave and see what he says.
24. Im gonna be needing some short scales for my Musicmaster very soon - looks like Strings direct are the guys to use then! Cheers for the thread. Never used D'Addarios before, seems like they are quite well liked on here (I normally use Elites on my long-scales)?
25. I love PUNTER's LETTERS / COMMENTS - we really should have a separate forum for those y' know. Makes you understand Roger Waters' standpoint on fans though dunnit
