1. Wild Thing lol
2. +1 for Know Your Enemy Anything off the first album... really...
3. I just love the bridge / tailpiece area. Looks like pistons powering some kind of massive artillery. Or something. lovely bass!
4. Id quite like some alcoholic beverages, and maybe some new shoes.
5. ill check. Dont really want to get them out of the packet atm as the body isnt even going to back for a while yet but it does seem a little stoopid to advertise them as short scale strings and then make them TOO short??? La Bella - Doh!
6. Got some nice new La Bella short scales from Stringbusters to put on it when it arrives... cant wait!!! I must say - Stringbusters - A1 service there. Uber-fast delivery and very good prices. Two thumbs fresh
7. Sound Control in norwich is always fine to me - the guys in there have always been helpful. Dont really go to any other music shops to be honest, ive bought an Ampeg from them aaaaages ago, an SG Gu*tar and a Ric 4001 (when they were Academy Of Sound) due to the fact I got good prices on all items and the guys there were good to me.
8. Ive put the whole lot in one of those segmented toolboxes so they are all in one place. Dunno where to put the neck though! Looks a bit odd on its own. The body of said bass has now been delivered to be refinshed. The chap who is doing it is also going to do some before/middle/after pics so that should be fun to see as well. Ill most likely post them on here.... ETA January for the finished article!
9. All great advice guys, bought myself some nice new philips screwdrivers and took some pics of the bass itself to remind me when i fix it back together where things ago. Cheers once again - its off to get done this weekend! Whoohoo
10. Ok - cheers... the strings are pretty slack as it is, they dont look like theyve been changed for about 20 years! lol
11. Hi guys, I have finally found someone to refinish my Musicmaster. Thing is, he just needs the body and not the neck or hardware to do the job. Is there anything I should particularly know, or be wary of, when taking the neck, bridge, strap fittings and pickguard off my little baby before it gets sent for a new dress? Ive never had to disassemble any of my guitars before y'see. Cheers, Stag
12. http://cgi.ebay.com/RARE-RICKENBACKER-4080...1QQcmdZViewItem That, is... ....awesome. Yum. Even the colour is sexy, shame about the bridge "mess"
13. Not quite as cheap (or even a Status) but some very nice brand new 5-string G&L's with flight case at the BC for less than 400 notes... on another thread somewhere by OutToPlayJazz
14. It also comes with a free moulded case! Blimey, a very good deal in my book....
15. Mmm, I have really been thinking about adding a 5 to my collection and that would fit the bill perfectly. Shame ive got to buy a house this month really! Dammit
16. Maybe one of these? 10% shorter than a P-bass, apparently.... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Fender-P-Bass-Junior...oQQcmdZViewItem
17.
Cease Sir! Comin' round 'ere temptin' me wiv orl yer flash forrin pointyness! Believe me, ONE explorer is enough. This one though has a normal bridge & only having 22 frets in a 32" scale might actually fit in a Thunderbird gigbag. Pete.
Ive GOT one of these!!! Except, for some reason, it was defretted before I got my hands on it. Let's just say it most certainly doesnt sound how it looks anymore! Will post some pics on Bass Porn at some point, its a bit beat up now I must say
18. Bloody hell thats seen some action in its time! Lovely piece of kit. Are they "fag end" marks in the top of the headstock - look familiar, I think all my basses have got them on them! lol
Pillow laid down on the floor in the bedroom. Our relationship is going well.
LOL - still at the "first love" phase... Explains why Jim was too busy to refinish my Musicmaster - cos he was too busy building that beast!
20. You really cant beat a good bit of Ric porn
21. I luuurrrrrve Burnel's sound as well. Twangy in the extreme !!!
22. I went for 4 cos I started on a 4, my dream bass as a kid was the classic Cliff Burton Ric 4001 - so I got one when I could afford it. havent really ever thought too much about going for a 5-string... would like to try one out in a while. Might have to go crazy one time and have a plunk on the Doodle DJV! :-)
23. Very good to see this. Ive had a problem on eBay once before and got caught (wont get caught again - FACT) so its good to see a positive outcome on this one. Wonder if the buyer will sign up here since you all contacted him?
24. MMM, thats a beaut. Its in incredibly good nick as well innit? Would love to have a plunk on one of them someday... like the idea of a thinner neck as my 4001 is a bit "phat".
25. My missus quite liked the Fender Musicmaster I picked up a while back, if you can get one of them on the cheap...
