I must say the SC in Norwich has always been helpful to me. When I got my Ricky about 8 yrs ago the Norwich guys didnt have one in, but they called the Manchester shop who brought it down to Norwich for me to try out... and I bought it so it worked out for everyone concerned. Sadly they dont do that anymore - have been in recently asking them to check with the other stores to see if they had any Musicmasters in any of the stores but they cant check other stores stock anymore for some reason. The guys in the Norwich store have always been very pleasant to me, and generally pretty helpful when ive asked about stuff.

Not very exciting for just about everyone but here's a couple of pics of my B-20's bridge as requested by Bill Beard. Its a bit, um, rusty. And old.

Ive also heard a lot of bassists "over-fuzzing" it... make sure you get the sound right for it and not too death-metal stylee!!! :-)

Oh, oh - I've gone and done it now....

come on DJV - your public needs a response! -
That is one cool looking bass. Looks like the same thing Peter Hook uses?

They have a website - might be on there? www.thebrickmakers.com

Second gig in Norwich for my sideproject band, The Ordinance - at The Brickmakers Music Pub (voted best pub band venue on England a year ago I think?) in good old Naaarwich (Norwich). It's a whole night of Zeppelin and I think ill be persuading my singer to let me use his '75 Fender for the night and have my Ricky on standby for the real "grunty numbers"! Cheers, Stag

If it looks too good to be true..........

I think id be a bit suspicious at that price.... -
I like the fact that Batman appears to be doing some weights while on stge with you :-) (nice Hofner by the way!)

dammit i was gonna suggest JB on Crossroads (live)! Um, pretty much anything by Zeppelin is a given really. On an odd slant, I really like Music Of The Mind by Jamiroquai, that's a lovely little workout.

I have always had my suspicions that its a refin, and if its the case they did a crackin job on it I must say, no blemishes or tone changes in it (apart from the lovely nicotine stains where I used to stick fags under the strings at the top, oh dear). Could be a hybrid jobbie as well... but all the parts are definitely Rick :-)

both in tip top nick again. Lovely to see... like the black on black 'ray a lot :-)

They are abstract, and I think that's why I like them - the most errr.... "normal" bass I have is my Rick and that has some odd features (see BassPorn :-) ). Also, for simple portability's sake im interested... yellowisfriedegg - will be a month and a bit yet before the hallowed financial bonuses are handed out at the toilet where I work (Dood knows!!! haha) so I need to able to afford it first. But id love to see it! Maybe put some pics in BassPorn? Cheers - Stag
cool cheers, just found one but didn't look cos they keep being taken off the sites, oh and it like em fairly hectic but looks like he got paid by the note for that one.
Did he play that one with a pick? Its a bit mental... I remember having that over the PA before my band were due to due our second set and a little group of the audience went mad for it (musicians as I found out after the gig) and let's just say trying to follow YYZ isnt the easiest thing to do! LOL

they do look a bit pony but for £61 its very reasonable, particularly for plonking about at home on. I might get one! :-p

My budget is about £250 to £350 which should be possible. Conflicting camps here again... wonder if ill pluck up the courage to take the plunge!!!

October 1982 according to the serial number. It is an odd thing, which is half the reason I bought it... about 7 years ago now. woodenshirt : I was a bit "Eh?" about the split pickguard as well! Bit of an oddity I must say. One of these days ill use the neck pickup :-)
Deer Stag, Great to have you with us, (Sorry about the deer/dear thing just couldn't resist it) Mart.
The "Deer" thing has been mentioned before! hehe! Cheers guys

Okay, this is my gigging weapon! Its been stuck into a few ceilings, had a tuning peg broken clean off it and pinned back in professionally, there's a belt buckle mark the size of the Grand Canyon on the back, the nut comes loose when you restring it... but it still sounds ace! Cheers

Looks like its been kept in really good nick... like it

A fair while ago on the BW forums I was sniffing around to see if anyone had a Musicmaster they wanted rid of. I've been doing a little research and it appears that most people fall into two camps regarding their opinion on the lil' bebe basses. CAMP 1 - (ooer!!) They are great, portable punchy basses. They're a bit odd, and that's cool, right? CAMP 2 - (hiya!!) They are utter sh*t and arent worth buying, wooly farty sounds and cheaply made. Booooo!!! Has anyone out there owned one? I seem to be obsessed with the idea of getting one but it might help if I knew a bit more about them before I part with hard earned cash from my bonus. I should point out that my right thumb got fractured some time ago and hasnt been the same since (drunken accident, and playing in goal dont help) so my logic is it might make it a bit easier to play than my Ricky 4001 all the time. Opinions and views would be most welcome guys and gals....
