1. Is it a bass? Is it a guitar? I don't know. Got one just yesterday. Japanese reissue, strung with LaBella flats.
2. Eich T-500 with two 112XS cabinets. Love this rig. It's light, loud and tight.
3. Sent a message to the band (House of Riddim), and it worked Apparently, it's a Zagler. Cool stuff.
4. Here's a better photo:
5. So I went to this reggae festival yesterday and Anthony B. was playing. It was pretty darn good! But I was puzzled by one thing: the bass his bass player was using. Five string kinda Jazz Bass, 24 frets, with humbuckers. Couldn't tell what it was. Who can help? Sorry for the terrible shots
6. NOFX and Rancid, probably. Can't really remember...
7. Bump. Interested in trades with something fretless as well
8. Hehehe I've seen that, have already suggested a trade but no success so far
9. Very much for this: And this:
10. New price £600
11. 1210 out, 112 in. Love this rig. More than enough low end from those "little" speakers.
12. Bump
13. Bought it new last March, but found out quite quickly that this bass and me are not going to be best friends. Turns out I'm a real Fender guy... And that's a pity, because this bass rocks! Hollowbody, maple top w/ spruce back and sides BiSonic pickup Grover tuners 30.3" scale Strung with D'Addario Chromes Comes with original hard case. Sound samples can be made when requested The bass currently lives in Amsterdam and I'd love to have it picked up and I'm willing to travel through the country or to Belgium or Germany for a good deal. Price £625 obo Also open for trades, hit me with something cool Specifically interested in Jazz Basses with maple fretboard (Fender Marcus Miller, Geddy Lee for example).
14. According to Discogs and Allmusic: Christian McBride.
15. Well, judging by the amount of hum they had, they're probably not hum canceling Or they were, and didn't do a very good job.
16. 2nd hand website here in Holland.
17. I agree with KK, probably a Multivox or something related.
18. So I bought a Fender MIM Jazz bass about 14 years ago. I bought it new, but had the brilliant idea after a year or two to replace the pickups. Bought a set of Fender CS60 pickups (I thought), installed them and played with those pickups for a long time, no prob at all. A year or two ago, one of the pickups gave out so I went to my fav bass shop to have it repaired (turned out to be a loose wire). and the guy asked me: "What pickups are those?" So I said: "Fender Custom Shop, why?" So he shook his head and said: "Well, these are not Custom Shops for sure. They're not even Fender pickups. No idea what they are..." I had the pickups replaced by Lollars today (amázing pickups by the way) but the guy who did that job for me had no idea what pickups were in my bass. Went to a luthier for a refret: he also had no idea. Thought they were cheap. Maybe anyone here knows? The coils are glued in the covers, so no way to get them out. Funny thing is you can move the magnetic poles back and forth a bit.
19. Oh cool! I didn't know them. But what would be the difference between these and the somewhat cheaper ánd better available Antiquity pickups? I thought those were wound to the specs Seymour rewound Jaco's pickups...
20. I've owned this gem for about 15 years now: It sounds pretty decent. About 12 years ago I installed new pickups that were sold to me as Fender CS60 pickups, but two years ago I found out they're not. They're not even Fenders. I don't know what they are but they're ok. However, I think the bass can do a lot better. There's too much hum when using only the bridge pickup and I miss depth and low end in my sound. Now as a Jaco fan (as one is supposed to be) I have that sound in my head, but with a little bit more low end. The question is: except for copper foil in the cavities, which pickups to choose? The competitors: -Aguilar 4J-60 -Fender CS60 -Seymour Duncan Antiquity -Aero Type 3 -Lindy Fralin Or anything I've missed...? Oh, and a double check: the neck pickup on my bass is 92 mm, bridge 94. Does that correspond with standard Fender dimensions? I've read somewhere that the MIM basses can have different sizes (neck and bridge pickup same width and so on).
21. Hehehe none! I was kind of at the back of the stage, plus it was a wedding so everybody was caring about the bride and groom
22. Actually, it is I was subbing with that band, they called me a few days before the gig and I had to check out and transcribe 2 60 minute sets, with many medleys. I can't remember all that
23. My rigs this weekend: My face using it: That OC-2. That Moog. That amp. What a machiiiiiine
