1.
Thats one serious bass face Think we should get a bass face thread started!! lol
A friend of mine once said: when you play something difficult (or something in general), you look like you smell your own farts and, secretly, like it. EDIT: Bass Face thread started!
2. And I like that Performer bass! Anyway, the Big Al may look a bit weird, but the sound is just Music Man.
3. New pic, now with added funky stuff:
4. Ah, I didn't see that. Anyway, the Henzelli looked weirder as a design than as the finished bass, indeed. Still, I have played it and it's such a wonderful bass to play! It's ergonomics are just superb.
5. First bass built for me buy the guys of Cobelens & de Bruyne, of whom I am an endorser: Maple body, merbau top, maple neck, rosewood fretboard, Seymour Duncan Basslines soapbars, Aguilar OBP-3, Wilkinson tuners, ABM bridge. Because I'm not 100% satisfied, so they're building a new bass for me that's smaller, lighter and has nicer wood: Same pickups, preamp and hardware, but it has a downsized body made out of ash with wengé laminates, spalted birch top, maple/wengé/greenheart neck, ebony fretboard.
6. I would buy about 20 Celinders before I would buy a Ritter like that.
7.
Nice looking bass - I've read ads about these in BGM & they seem really good. What's your opinion?
I like to compare them to the Fender American Deluxe and Sadowsky Metro series, they're only way cheaper (about £1400). The only thing I didn't really like was the fact that my bass had a bit too much treble in the sound, which I solved with replacing the preamp. The thing I'm still amazed about is the playability. It plays so smooth! @RhysP: Odd colour, but it fits the instrument! @Rayman: Yes, she seems to play a B4 with added pickguard.
8. I haven't seen many of these so far, so I was wondering who on this forum has a Blade bass! I have a B2 Tetra. It has been modified with an Aguilar OBP-1 preamp. It's a power jazz as well as my Celinder but still is a quite different instrument from the Danish baby.
9.
Hi Hidde and welkom aan boord, I'm sure you will stay longer than anticipated !!! My older brother lives in Utrecht and works for Rabobank, although most of his time is spent in the piano practice rooms at the University. I am hoping to visit soon to see the Railway Museum. ....Paul
Thanks! I live very close to the railway museum.
10. Since Thursday, I own a J Update 4 that was originally owned by Danish bass player Thomas Skarbee, who sold it to CrazyKiwi, who then sold it to a Belgian bass player called Geert Maesschalck. I bought the bass from Geert. I absolutely love this bass. It plays like a dream, sounds like an animal and looks like a Bentley. I can't imagine anyone ever thought of selling this
11. Thanks! It's an awesome instrument. Why did you sell it, actually?
12. I think my Cobelens & de Bruyne can be considered "weird": But the Henzelli by the same guys is even weirder: Both absolutely wonderful basses!
13.
Yea, definitely know what you mean about the big city with small town feeling. Hope to come back sometime soon.
If you do, let me know @LeftyJ: Euj lange!
14. I like it way better than e.g. Amsterdam. It's a big city, but still has that small-town feeling. I study at the conservatory there.
15. Right, I'll edit the opening post a little bit. EDIT: Done
16. I've been buying, trading and selling a lot in the last 10 years, and now I think I have my ultimate set of basses: From top to bottom: -Squier Vintage Modified Precision Bass, modded a little bit (and there are more mods coming). -Blade B2 Tetra Jazz Bass, modded with an Aguilar OBP-1. -Celinder J Update 4, the one in the Basschat banner -Fender Standard Jazz Bass fretless, modded with Custom Shop 60's pickups, a new pickguard and an epoxied fingerboard. From top to bottom: -Yamaha TRB5II. All original. -Yamaha TRB5F. Refinished, new fingerboard. For sale. -Yamaha BB N5II. All original, will never ever be sold, for it was my first 5-string. -Cobelens & de Bruyne Primo. I have an endorsement of these guys and this was the first bass they built for me. They're building a new one for me as we speak And almost my ultimate amp: -Aguilar AG500SC with 2 Aguilar DB112's. I'm going to have serious problems now. I don't know which bass to bring when.
17. One of the best amps I've ever heard. And I own it. Celinder + Aguilar = heaven.
18. Hi all, Since today I'm the proud owner of the black Celinder that's on top of this page. It's an awesome bass, but I have a question: it has an OBP-1 preamp, and on the bass pot/passive tone is a trimpot. Does anyone know what that's for?
19. New to this forum! My name is Hidde, 19 y.o., from The Netherlands. I've been playing bass for the last 10 years, and have owned many basses since then! I currently own this: -Cobelens & de Bruyne Primo (2008) -Celinder J Update 4 (1998) -Blade B2 Tetra Jazz with Aguilar OBP-1 (2001) -Fender Standard Jazz Bass fretless modded (2002) -Yamaha TRB 5II (2002) -Yamaha BB N5II (2002) -Squier Vintage Modified Precision (2007) -Yamaha TRB5F (1995) (For sale, local pickup only) -Aguilar AG500SC with 2 Aguilar DB112s -Some effects I came here for a question I had about my Celinder, but I think I'll stick around a bit longer I'll post some pics tomorrow. My gear has changed a bit lately so most pics I still have are outdated
