    I was thinking along the same lines. I'm looking for sound files or a you tube vid of a graphite one but they're all wood. I've very recently fallen in love with status. I think they're an aquired taste. Like Guinness

    Why is this so unloved? It gets shifted around like no ones business and it's so pretty. I almost feel sorry for it.

    G&L, OLP, Sub, Sterling Ray 34, CIJ fender, westone thunder or any other matsumoku built bass would be my choice second hand. If he wants something new I don't think much will stack up to the squier CV or VM range.
