  2. is it one of the vietnam models?
  3. or you could just buy 10 packs of Thommans Harley benton Brand at £4.18 each and use them a couple of times each? https://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_valuestrings_ebass_light.htm https://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_valuestrings_ebass_light_reviews.htm
  4. turning down the mids on your amp? Just noticed Im only 53 posts behind you!
  5. I saw the partly obscured header and thought this was about Jacko covering Topographic Oceans
  6. wow! Really really nice! im a sucker for those vintage white..
  7. we stuck with RCF, don't know if it's what you're after but its been reliable and a plus is that it's pretty light, got a bag to stick it in as well https://www.bax-shop.co.uk/analogue-mixing-desk/rcf-e-16-16-channel-mixing-console
  8. first vinyl I bought when I got back into it a couple of years ago, first thing I played on my "new" turntable

  10. This..and thanks to BC for pointing me in its direction!
  11. I put my DHA tube preamp in front of my Ampeg SVT-CL, tubes everywhere, doesn't do it any harm, not sure if it benefits the sound all that much but Im too lazy to take it off my pedalboard as sometimes I'll just go DI to the FOH if space is tight, so I think you'll be fine.
  12. I literally took delivery of the JamMan stereo today. I've spent all day loading in the keyboard backing to the intro of Shine On You Crazy Diamond by Floyd. I recorded the parts on Garageband with its excellent choice of keyboards (the B3 Hammond is outstanding IMO) and then just simply recorded them onto seperate patches (each key onto a seperate patch), ie Gm intro on patch one, Dm on patch 2, Cm on Patch 3 and so on untill I have the whole keyboard sequence for the 5 minute intro ready to scroll through with my foot while Im doing duty on bass. 13 patches for that song I also have a patch with the moog intro to Xanadu, and another patch with the air raid siren for War Pigs, you simply use the up/down funtion on the footswitch. Im rehersing the Floyd tonight, I think I'll be tap dancing like Fred Astaire but should be a laugh, I'll let you know how I get on! The main thing you need to think about is how you are going to change the patches ie the backing tracks, with you foot is the easiest option and for that you need the JamMan stereo, they're £112 at the moment at DV247
  13. Thats a bit rude about the mighty Joe Dart
  14. I'd be equally angry at the venue manager cancelling the gig because one person decides to throw their toys out of the pram, surely that's not normal practice? There must be someone else in 3 bands or at the venue capable of rumming a basic desk?
  15. Nano Bassballs, velcro on the bottom, good condition £40 delivered
  16. Thats interesting, thanks, so 2 x 12's would be more suitable?
  17. we have 2 x 15 active RCF's and 1 x Mackie sub, everything is mic'd to FOH, but only the Kick, Toms and Bass through the Sub with high pass filter. The bass is turned way down through the sub, with the emphasis on the kick for that thud in the chest without mud. So IMO deffo no sub for backline, strictly FOH, but possibly not necessary for quality 15" PA Tops and a good quality Bass Backline, especially if we're talking Dog n Duck territory. PS Mackie subs are terrible, should have gone for another RCF
  18. nah its gone May have to pull the trigger on the DV247 new one..
  19. Might be able to get one for £75, negotiating right now!
  20. The only ones ive seen on ebay are all more expensive used than a new one from Thomman or DV247! Have you seen a cheaper used one?
  21. Thanks, Im looking for a used Jamman pedal, hopefully it can switch between pre recorded loops in playback with the integrated up/down switch
