  1. ok I offered £11.47, got refused..will it affect my credit rating?
  2. I've said it before but I'll say it again, nothing beats my Dave Hall VT-2 for adding tube warmth to my solid state amps, sadly they're no longer made as Dave passed away last year. If you can get your hands on a used one, you won't go wrong, there's an older thread here
  3. Picked it up tonight.. £65 weighs a ton, side handles going in for sure...loud as hell, thanks for all the advice chaps
  4. Blimey 10-nil, a thrashing of Man City vs Accrington Stanley proportions!
  5. Peaveys 3 nil up so far!
  6. Really? Thats interesting. Care to elaborate?
  7. Oh dear, I have the choice of picking either one of these up for about £60, and I'm so indecisive I can't well..decide. My heart says the Peavey as I love that old US Iron but my head says the Ashdown as it has more features, is more modern, has a compressor built in etc. Its to use for smaller pub gigs where I don't really need the overkill of the Ampeg and 410 I lug around. Anyone been fortunate enough to had both, and give me some opinion? Cheers.
  8. Lucky beast!!!
  9. Resurrection of an old thread, I have an opportunity to pick one up for £60, should I go for it? Its for smaller gigs where lugging the Ampeg gets a bit overkill.
  10. If they were actually playing that for real in those costumes I admit to being quite impressed. We cover that number and its pretty tricky (the bass runs are devilishly fast)
  11. great post mind, made me find this
  12. great band but that song..proof that you can't polish a turd, merely cover it in glitter...
  13. "Turn that fu*&%*g bass down, you're drowning out the mandolin!"
  14. genius or demented, I can't decide!
  15. fake as a fake thing
  16. or indeed an old harley benton axe for 300 sovs!
  17. is it me or is reverb really expensive?
  18. are his strings upside down?
  19. fantastically sexy instrument slung down around your thighs fnnnaaar
  20. yep, never been asked in 400+ gigs, all pubs.
  21. exactly what I do, ampeg is the last thing into the van after all the pa has been stowed, also first thing to come out when i get home ( if I can be @rsed)
  22. yeah get one below 50 quid for sure, they work well on bass but i couldn't vouch for gigging
  23. its ok but really they're guitar pedals
  24. leave it on standby if you have to wait anymore than 10/15 minutes before playing. If its literally hours then switch it off. I'll soundcheck then go into standby, grab a drink, take a p1ss, then one two three...forgot to switch it back out of standby!
  25. Where you based? Think around £250 -300 for pub gigs but you got to have a decent reputation to command that kind of money week in week out. If you're starting out, aim a little lower to get established but don't stay too low or you'll drag the rest of us down! Yeah don't do chridee gigs anymore either (thankless task)
