Would just like to say that I've had a couple of dealings with Thomann and both have ended up in tears! I wouldn't buy from them even if they were offering 'buy one get one free'
Just out of interest, could you elaborate on this as I'm about to place an order with them (Sorry OP, I'm down in Somerset and won't be heading your way till August).

Just noticed that PMT have this available on pre-order at the previously quoted new price of £229(white only). Not sure if they would honour this price, but may be worth a punt if you were going to buy one at the new, higher price anyway. http://www.pmtonline.co.uk/index.php/sterling-by-music-man-sub-series-ray-in-white.html
Any idea what a Sub silo 3 is? Cos they have appeared on Anderton's as well, no idea what it is though... http://www.andertons...oard.asp#page-1
I believe they are the six string versions (guitar, not bass).
The line out is to connect to a line level input on another amp or mixer. Say a power amp or an active cab. Its not to connect to the instrument level input on another amp. Line level and instrument/mic level are different voltage. Line level is what you get out of an amp after the signal has been amplified by the pre-amp.
This was what i was after. It has all become clear.
I think you're getting your terminology confused. A combo is an amp and speaker combined - you 'could' connect that to a line out socket and it'd work. You were talking about adding another speaker, a speaker is just a speaker and that won't work if you connect it to a line out socket.
No, I understand all that, i was just confused by post #3.
-
OK, I'm confused now as the post above says that the line out is to link to another amp or mixer.

I've been looking at getting one of these, looks perfect for what I want. If in the future i wanted to a more, could i get a second one and go from the line out of the first one to the regular input of the second one to run a second cab. Sorry if it's a bit of a numpty question, but i'm a bit clueless when it comes to amps.
"unable to identify it's playability" what does that mean? ????????????????
Probably means that they don't have an amp to check it works ok.

Great multi fx unit in good fully working condition. Comes boxed with all paperwork, cables and cubase cd (windows XP or Mac OS X 10.2 or higher). This originally came from Thomann in Germany, so the power unit is of the two pin euro type but i have included the uk adapter i have been using with no problems for the last two years. Full spec can be found here http://www.zoom.co.j.../b21u/index.php Looking for £45 inc postage Pics to follow

If it helps, I have a pair of the Limited Edition natural bodied ones from the early/mid ninties and they are solid bodies, made from medium weight Indian ash. Theres a copy of the review in this thread. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/54743-encore-p-bass-natural-finish/page__p__543540__hl__encore%20natural__fromsearch__1#entry543540

Damon Alburn gets my vote. Bloke's a proper cock and is awful live.

Been keeping an eye on Andertons website to see when they get stock of these. None in yet, but price has jumped from £229 to £299 for the 4-string, and from £249 to £329 for the 5-string.

guy buys bass for £70 fiddles with it then sells it for £154
silentbob replied to apa's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
Local luther to me charges £54 for a full set up that includes alot more than this guy offers. No ebay fees and no PP. Ive never used him. Just an instant example. http://kimwebberguit...pair/index.html (Yes it is the guy who did the diamond LP). A
Just as well you've never used Kim Webber, if I were you i'd avoid at all costs. A couple of years ago I needed a new nut on one of my basses, so gave Mr Webber a call. Seemed like a nice enough bloke on the phone, quoted me £20 and told me i could drop the bass off that afternoon. When I got to his place (about an eight mile drive) Mr Webber told me he'd made a mistake on the phone, and that the cost would actually be £30. He then proceeded to tell me that he would also have to give the bass a set up (not optional) at an additional cost of £60. I decided at this point that i'd heard enough and tried to make my excuses and leave, but Mr Webber pushed on, saying that I obviously couldn't afford his services but was too embarrassed to say so. I was now heading for the door, but even then he kept on at me, saying he would knock £10 off of the set up price if I took some music lessons from his son. In the end I just said I'd think about it and get back to him and did a runner. Luckily i've since managed to find an excellent chap just one street over from Mr Webber who does fantastic work at a very reasonable price (it's the guy that Jaywalk Guitars in Street use), but i still wonder from time to time if Mr Webber treats all his customers like he treated me, because if he does, i'm amazed he's still in business. -
Sorry to hijack, but while we're on the subject of lacquers, I'm looking to paint my bass in a satin black finish, what type of lacquer if any should i use on this (are there matt lacquers available)?

Last year i was given the Haynes Fender Bass book, which i have thouroughly enjoyed and have delved into time and time again. What I'd really like to get my hands on, if it exists, is a referance book that covers all of the different models, eg, aerodyne, jazz specials, ect, and details all the differences between the basses. Anybody know if a book like this exists?
The part which pisses me off which happens fairly often is when they refuse to pay you and yet don't tell you that until the gig is over. Arseholes.
This. I would go back with my band, run up a massive food and bar bill, then at the end of the night tell them you aren't paying because the food was sh*te. -
