1. Must.....resist.....local.....bargain.
2. I really like this, infact I've been playing the whole EP quite a lot over the last few weeks, with Godsnake being my favourite track. Hopefully he'll play some dates over here once the album's finished and released.
3. Nice work, I did my own inverted P project a while back, thread's here if you want to take a look. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/113240-encore-derision-or-d-bass-project/page__hl__derision
4. I'm a big fan of Fender flats, but saying that, I like them that much I haven't actually bothered trying anything else. Think I may try a set of Status Hotwires on my Spector and see how I get on.

6. Hi, just wondered what you make of this, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221166967514?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 On first inspection it looks ok, but it looks like the pickguard screws and pole pieces are rusting. Would this be down to it being stored in a damp enviroment, and if so, would that have effected the wood in any way. Anys thoughts welcome. Cheers

8. Bugger, missed this thread. Can I put my name on a reserve list in the case of anybody changing their mind between ordering and delivery please.
9. Bought a neck from Dean. Condition was much better than I expected, and the neck was posted out well packaged and in good time. Great bloke to deal with.
10.
What is a bass ukulele ? Do you mean like a baritone uke ? Famously the ukulele orchestra of grea britain called their acoustic bass a "bass ukulele "
Like this http://www.kalabrand.com/instrumentsU-bass.html
I've seen a few righty ukuleles at a music shop - some are perfectly symmetrical -at least on the outside - and can be turned upside down with no problems, but it's always necessary to replace or file/adjust the bridge and nut, although that didn't look like a huge job, given the relative thinness of all the strings.
The strings on these are pretty thick so may be a bit more of a job than normal, but nothing a decent luthier shouldn't be able to sort out.
11. Just seen your post, sorry, no postage on the Crate, but I am driving from Bridgwater to the NEC on Saturday morning if any body wants to meet along the way.
12. Up Would possibly swap/px against other effects or a pedal tuner. WHY
13. Bought from here a couple of months ago during my search for the perfect drive pedal. This one wasn't for me, but is still a decent bit of kit. Comes with original box and is in great condition bar that it's missing one screw from the baseplate, but this does not effect it's use in any way. Price is £30 posted firm
14. A little while back I bought myself an old Encore LTD83 which was in a bit of a bad way. Decided to give it a bit of a restoration and it's now probably my favourite/go to bass. Only problem is, I'm mostly into heavier music and it doesn't look very "metal",so when one came up on the 'bay at a bargain price I hatched a plan to build another. (Big thank you to soopercrip on here for collecting the bass and posting it down to me.) Original plan was to strip everything down and repaint in the style of an original Musicman Sub (textured black paint, metal treadplate pickguard), but I was unable to source the textured paint so instead went for a hammerite type spray paint. This was disasterous and I ended up stripping all the paint off and starting again. This time I went for BMW charcoal metallic which was alot easier to use and has turned out pretty good. Today I finished lacquering the body and I'm really pleased with it (what with it being my first time at painting a body). I did end up with a slight orange peel effect which I was going to get rid of with a rubbing compound, but the more I look at it, the more I like the way it gives the kind of textured finish I was originally after so I've decided to leave it. The next job to do is the neck. I need to fill a small ding in the headstock, then sand it back and paint it the same colour as the body, and add a new Fender inspired Encore decal. I'm also going to give the neck a light sanding to hopefully get rid of the years of dirt build up it's aquired, then finish it with a couple of coats of danish oil. Hardware wise, I'm again using my favourite Gotoch components, this time in cosmo black, and I'm going to rewire using EMG HMZ pickups, CTS pots, Switchcraft jack socket and an orange drop cap. All that leaves then is the scratchplate. I have spoken to Howard (bass doc) about cutting a treadplate plate, but it's not something he can do, so I'm now looking at carbon fibre as a possibility, either real, or the fake plastic look-a-like stuff. Anyway, enough talking, here's a few pics of the body in various stages of compleation.
15.
Sonisphere 2010 had the same headliners. I'd played and heard a couple of Rammstein tracks but didn't know much about them. I would say that a large proportion of the crowd were the same. During the gig, got talking to a real old campaigner Maiden fan (think he clocked a rare Maiden (Nodding Donkeys) t-shirt from an undercover pub gig they played in Norwich that I'd been too and was wearing) and his comment was 'I've followed Maiden for well over 20 years and I've never seen anything like this, I don't know how they'll (maiden) follow it tomorrow." The crowd were absolutely gripped by the show, you couldn't take your eyes away. This was to such an extent that a large proportion of the crowd were still hanging around watching the crew start to strip down the set because we still thought something else was going to happen. Suffice to say my mate (guitarist) and I spent the next few weeks gibbering on about just what an amazing show Rammstein put on. Since then I've seen them at the O2, which was also fantastic. Though if pyro is your thing, go for an outside gig, bigger, hotter, higher and louder. At Download I suspect they may cause problems for the aircraft coming into the nearby airport... Did Maiden follow it? Well I think the two bands approach things very differently. Rammstein put on a fantastic show (best I've seen) and have some very good songs, Maiden were on great form and played a fantastic GIG and that's a different thing (plus, they've got a few absolute landmark songs up their sleeve.) Enjoyed both immensely and so glad we ditched the awful and over rated Motley Crue early to see Rammstein up close! Haven't been to Donnington since the Monsters of Rock days, going back this year...
You've convinced me.
16. I felt the same when I saw Maiden were playing. Ah well, may make the effort anyway, never been to Donnington/Download so I suppose I should once in my lifetime.
17. You still got their number, sound like they would match my ability perfectly What sort of stuff were they trying to play?
18. Agreed mate, love Billy's style.
19. That's it, now I've seen what it looks like, this is definatly getting built.
20. I've had two of these, both were fitted with genuine DiMarzio pups.
