1. Do you have anything to prove it was owned by Van Morrison? Lovely bass either way, but i'm sure that would help your sale
2. A cool song, well played. Love the tone you have too. Nice
3. That is a great cab too. Cant go too far wrong with some Agi gear!

They look great! Congrats!
5. Another TKS fan here I have 2 for when I need them, but one is plenty loud! I had Berg HDs before. Great cabs! But the TKS match them for sound IMO, and are a lot lighter. That was the deciding factor for me. You get to customise them too, so what's not to like?
6. Some pretty cool set ups!
7.
Having the bass EQ turned up just completely buries all the little ghost notes and kills the clarity of the higher notes so I keep it turned off all the time.
Nice little tip. Might try this in one practice see how it sounds
8.
"Standard" does not compute.
That is fair enough! I have no call for fretless, and for any songs that need a drop D/C/B, it takes a couple of seconds to sort that out for me
9. What Blue said made sense.... Shouldnt he be ringing back to see if he got the gig? Or, why don't you ring him and tell him he has got the gig, and then confront him? I must admit i would find it hard not to put the hurt on him.
10. I often talk about or hear about bassists having their own sound. I get that this is effected by technique, but a lot will be how you set up, and what your set up is. I have a Warwick Streamer Stage 1, that goes straight into my effect board. It is then daisy chained through a Boss tuner, a Sansamp and then into a Soundblox Multiwave distortion pedal. This then goes into my Aguilar Tonehammer 500, which is connected to 2 TKS112s. The EQ section will have drive at 9 oclock, and the gain at about 10. I set the mid freq to be at 1 oclock (high mids), and give that a little boost. Bass and Treble are at 12 oclcock. I'll adjust this depending on the room. The bass has a master volume which i back off max tilt a bit. I put the pickup pan to bias the jazz pickup at the bridge, then boost the bass a touch, and cut the treble with the onboard pre amp. It sounds better to me when i use the on board pre compared to EQ'ing it on the TH. This is my standard sound. I like the clarity of notes i can get by playing off the bridge jazz pickup, and the boost in bass EQ fattens it up nicely, IMO of course I change this only if i have to slap (only 2 songs), where i'll boost treble, and boost the master volume to make the sound more present in the mix. Or for songs where i feel it needs a bass heavier feel, i pan the pickup bias toward the neck "P P/up". So what's your set up? What's your sound?
11. Looking forward to seeing how this progresses!!
12. Had a few lovely offers, so one more weekend bump before I make a decision.
13. I am very pleased how they turned out. Go great with my '87 streamer too!
14. Here are my two. Taken in practice last night with my phone, so quality of photo isn't great, but they are
15. I've no experience with any TecAmp gear, so i can't comment on them. I have used a GB Streamliner 6.0 and i did like it. I always had it as a backup, and it never let me down. The tone was good. Very warm, and you could get it driven. Lightweight. Good class D amp. The amp i use is the Aguilar TH500. Love it. Very easy to use. Can go from clean, to driven to outright fuzzy. My favorite part is the Mids. Being able to select the frequency you want to boost/cut makes it very versatile. I've not played it through Vanderkleys, so i don't know how it would work with these (some cabs are voiced different to others), but overall i absolutely love it. I think the most common bit of advice you'll be given i to try and test these amps with your cab set-up. Everyones opinions will be valid, but it's yours that matter!
16.
OR more pertinently, 'friends' or 'fans' put up a phone video...so you have no control over it. Fortunately, there is only one horror story I am aware of... but the rest I'll still not be that pleased about just in terms of an amateur production more than the band itself.
Yeh we had someone ask for a video of us playing, as a way of seeing if we were suitable for their wedding. Before we had a chance to respond to them personally (they had made the request on our facebook page) , a friend posted a video they had taken of us, on what must have been a potato it was so bad! I appreciate that they were trying to help, but they really didn't! On another note, we had a practice again last night, and were sounding much better IMO. Happy days.
17. Turn up and play. If it sounds good, and just fits, you'll know. If it sounds bad, and has a kind of tension to it, don't worry. you're playing jazz
18. I love that colour with matching headstock. Deeeelish
19. I was just thinking the same thing. Good height that man!
20.
The more you know, the more you know you don't know. IMO.
This is so true. I thought i was at quite a good level 12 years or so ago when i was only self taught. I had a lesson, and i then realised how little i actually knew, and how much better i could/should be. "Get inspired" is good advice. A excellent teacher did this for me
21. Having previously owned a Big Twin, i cant imagine how loud 2 Super12Ts would be! Would probably be quite useful should you ever be constipated in the future though
22.
Mmm that is lovely
Thank you
23.
Ooh I can se the pictures now!
Excellent
24.
Pics aren't working for me in Chrome, Firefox, or Safari.
Not sure what the problem could be? Uploaded via photobucket. Any ideas anyone? Anyone else having issues with the pictures? Thanks Jass
