2.
Chicks don't dance to lead guitar, so avoid the ones that do, cause they're mental.
+1 haha
 3. hell of a lot of work and time that mustve taken you. Really easy to understand too! I learnt the modes about 6 months ago, your way is a hell of a lot easier to understand and pick-up though. Really useful for someone who doesnt already know them!!

 6.
Really not bad at all. One of the best budget recordings I've heard for a long time. Kick is a little flabby and could have done with a little more time on the mix (there's a small amount of low end clash) but not bad at all! Congrats!
Thanks! Really appreciate that. Especially considering who the comments come from. The whole demo was done on a £300 budget, and over two days so it was a bit rushed. But its over a year old now, and we are looking to go somewhere again since having interest from some peple. So hopefully can make it better next time. thanks again though
 7.
Hi, Just starting out with the Bass. (couple of months now) Based in Bristol (UK) I've also been playing acoustic 6 string guitar for about 1 year now. I've joined a band on bass with some friends which is very good for the learning curve but could do with a lesson or two to check I'm going in the right direction. ( don't want to get bad habits etc.) Any tuition in the Bristol area, (south side), would be good. Mainly for technique and pointers on building a bass line etc. Thanks
i know of an excellent teacher in cardiff area. guess itd be 30/40 minutes drive for you? if your interested, let me know and i can PM you his contacts etc
 8. Cheers for all the advice. Much appreciated, and definitly some things to have a closer look at!
 9. hey telestar your "the tone is in your fingers not the bass" thing.....you must know my teacher. thats like his motto!! haha
 10.
I have tried many, the best acoustic sound I think is the Eko (I think it's about £275?) At the moment I'm playing (and it's my main bass) an Ibanez AEB 8E. Not the loudest acoustic but plugged in it's massive. After every gig someone comes up and says how good it sounds. It's the bottom of the Ibanez bass AEB range (£250) I can't imagine just how wonderful the other models are. I've not tried anything more expensive than the Eko, I tried a Fender years ago and liked it (the black finish was better that nutural) Ibanez go up to about £400, for £600 you should get something pretty amazing.
I have a Ibanez in my arsenal at the moment. Its electric though. I actually really like it. It was bought as a budget bass, to serve as backup, but its really useful to have. Extremely versatile, and with 2 bartolini mk2, it can be loud as hell! may well be worth checking them out in acoustic.....
 11.
Fond of the Takamine G series.
ill definitly have a look. I hear they have a good name in the acoustic basses, but ive never played one.yet!
 12. I am relatively new to playing, and i had this problem. I found an excercise that really helped was as follows: Play the 1st,3rd,5th and 7th of the major scale, root note G ( 1 note each) then slide up to A and again play the 1st,3rd,5th and 7th but this time in the minor scale then up to the B and repeat the sequence in major the up to C and repeat in minor start off slow, getting the notes correct and paying particular attention to finger accuracy correct. Stay relaxed (easier said than done when your trying to concentrate!) and the speed will come on both hands. When you get faster you can start playing each note twice, then four times etc This helped my speed and accuracy alot, hope it can help you!
 13. Just finished an E.P with my band. Recorded on a budget, but actually quite happy with what we got from it! Check it out and let me know what you think: www.myspace.com/theomegablend Stay classy
 14. Im thinking of getting an acoustic bass, as we play acoustic gigs with the band, and rather than just plug a normal bass through the P.A (which sounds toilet!), i fancy a acoustic ones. Not very knowledgable on this subject though, so was looking for recommendations? Ive got about £600 to work with thanks in advance
 15. Seems like the done thing to inroduce yourself on here, so thought i should.... Not been playing long really, well in comparison to some ( about a year).
