1. just found this, and the main sticky thread. love it! thanks for taking the time!
2. 2 years ago when i started playing i wanted to understand how musical notation worked. So i kinda taught myself as best i could. Could never say i could read it, but i could understand it, and given 15 mins with music, i could work it out. 2 years later and ive decided to pick it up again. I have lessons with a great teacher, and he has leant me a book to work from. Only problem being the songs in the book are by Stanley Clarke,Marcus Miller and Jaco. Great book, and great songs and usually love to play. But I could do with working on some less complicated pieces of music for the time being, to ensure im actually reading it, not just playing it how i know it sounds ( i try my best not to do this, but just cant help it sometimes ) So, does anyone have any recommendations they found useful when learning?
3. Ive got a PBass deluxe MiM. Nice bass for the money!! i agree the bridge pickup is a bit too quiet, but i dont use that much, so not really a problem for me. And its got a Leo Quann Badass 2 on it, so as for the stock bridge, i cant comment. Its my stand in bass at the moment, but i wouldnt hesitate to recommend them. For the money they're a bargain IMHO
4. dont know what track one was like, it wouldnt load up for me. The second one you added was great though. Really enjoyed that!!
5.
might be worth thinking about heat when considering masks. would have though more than half an hour set with lights on you and your face encased in plastic could get somewhat unpleasant.
i played as freddy kruger before. Looked great untill it got too hot and i had to take the mask off. Then i was just a guy in a green and brown stripey jumper. Not cool
6. Really good stuff! quality playing, nice funky riffs IMO anyway!! I Can See is prob my favourite
7. Hi, i bought this as a cheap introduction into the world of fretless. I love it, but its not having any use, as it just doesnt fit into the music im playing. Just thought id see if anyone with a 5 string would fancy doing a trade? with money how it is at the moment it seems sensible i think Just to mention, its a home de-fret, comleted by the previous owner. In excellent condition, used only for inhouse practice. Not pretending to be "master of knowledge" of fretless bass sound, but it sounds pretty good to me I have got a few pictures of it, but still i dont know how to put pics up here, so if you wanna take a look, send me a PM, and i can email them to you. Would be willing to put in a little money to trade up if an offer like that came up cheers kert

13.
These are excellent basses. I've got the passive version and love it. Easily as good as any US Fender I've played.
I agree, but i have only played a couple of US fenders. Didnt want to make that comparison as i didnt feel like i could. Good to know some others think the same
14. Price drop to £340. Could do with getting the money, so needs to sell. Great bass with a meaty, punchy Pbass sound, and the added bonus of a jazz Pup to use and abuse too. oooooooooooh

20. Hi ive got an Ibanez BTB series bass. Not sure of the exact model, but it is this series of basses. It was my fist ever serious bass, and i dont want to sell it. I learnt on it, and have learnt to love it. The one problem it has are the Pups. They are the Bartolini MK1 (made in korea i think), and to be honest, they are pants!! Fine when your playing quietly in the house, but not great otherwise. And its a shame, because i really do love this bass apart from this one thing. So....anyone got any suggestions of what might go nicely instead of the Bartolinis? and also, anyone with experiance on how to go about doing the mod? I dont usually do it myself, but thought i might try this time thanks in advance kert
21.
Hardly. Jon was always a capable and intelligent player and eager to learn. All I did was give him some new perspectives. I haven't heard him play since about 1994 so I suspect he is a lot better now than he was then (and he was cool then). Anyone got a recording of him playing (his website is still 'under construction')?
He got skills im trying to convince him to put a couple of vids up on his site, but he keeps putting it off. ill take my own camera up there sooner or later though. Hes playing in a band again though if your ever round these parts?
22. Im up for this yeh. Dont know what ill have equipment wise by then, but ill bring a few bits and bobs. let you know closer to the date! kert
23.
Look up Jon Caulfield in Cardiff. I taught him in 1946 and he is now a well respected teacher in S. Glamorgan. Tell him Rob Palmer sent you.
ha, im learning from Jon too. Great teacher!, So, we meet Yoda's Yoda eh Rob?!?
