1. Maybe I'll just buy a couple of humbuckers and attack my Precision with the chisel?
2.
Afraid I can't make it (I'm off to Sonisphere festival that day to see Metallica, Slayer and Megadeth) but hope its a roaring success, Ad
The you'll be missing our medley of Master of Puppets, Raining Blood and Hanger 18 all done in a power pop style...
3. Friday is approaching like a runaway Lada. Could really do with a bit of support. We've never played in town this far before. We're worried bigger boys might steal our dinner money. Be nice to see some BC'ers. I'd love some sort of crowd to play too! We're on first at 8:30 so you can easily get that train, bus, Learjet home.
4. I really like that silver Blacktop (?) Precision. Since I got my Retrovibe I've been thinking how nice a Precision with those pickups would be for me. Shame I'm skint at the moment
5.
Will you pay me to watch it instead?
Yes. You can be me for the night. Eat some pies, grow a 'tache and wear a smaller brimmed hat please.
6. I've been banging on about the Len Price 3 and how bleeding amazing they are live and now we're going to be sharing a gig with them. At my favourite venue too. Friday 14th October - The Len Price 3 plus the Jetsonics at the Half Moon, Putney. Another action packed trio called the Past Tense will be opening the night too. incredibly excited by this gig. I'd pay to watch it!
7. Glad it was a good one. Shame that man flu got in the way for me
8. We've agreed to split everything equally. The drummer doesn't write lyrics or tunes but he can radically alter or make better a song by what he plays. I can't write drums. Did Weller write Foxton's bassline on Down In the Tube Station? I bet he didn't. But he did write the 'song' and take the extra cash. Hmmm.
9.
Ah well now ... if we're talking Hofners!
I love this bass. Sounds great too.
10.
Super original 3 minute rock anthems.
What we've been described as by mistake - Modern Northern Soul (?!?!) Classic Rock (shudders), Blues Rock (feels ill) Happy with - Garage Rock Power Pop Punk with a smidgeon of Dub and Glam Rock though.
11. Super original 3 minute rock anthems.
12. Played my local on Saturday. Very odd. Stuck behind a pillar that cut off the view. Did OK but it was hard to work the crowd like usual from behind it. Kind of like playing musical hide and seek. New songs went down well which is pleasing. Happy Jack informs me that the D&G strings weren't cutting through as much as the E&A on the Precision so it was out with the screwdriver yesterday. No problems second set with the Rerovibe. Two bassesin one gig. I'm almost Adam Clayton... Pub gigs are fun and the money's handy for band funds but I'm really looking forward to playing for 45 minutes on a proper stage again on the 8th July. Two sets is hard work with originals in a boozer.
13. It's tomorrow....
14.
How far can I push this cab? I have a 250W head to me that'd mean I could push it all the way
When we played with the Members last time Chris very kindly tested the cab by pushing the Terror through it at way past any level I've done before. It came through without a problem. I'm sure it could take 250 watts.
15. My 2007 Precision is a better sounding and playing bass than the 1968 I had. I don't buy the vintage is better thing. I've played lots of old ones. I've played lots of new ones. There's not much in it for me, Some old ones are better than some new ones and vice versa. (Runs off to Anderson Shelter...)
16. Join the club
17. I use my Terror through an RS210. Doesn't sound HiFi at all. Tweeter off of course. If I want a bit more oomph (just showing off really) I stick my RS112 underneath it too. I'm very pleased with the match up. The SP210 that I tried at the time was nice too. I just preferred the TC cab.
18.
I don't think I've ever played above the 14th fret. That's not really my style of playing.
Show off
19. This thread isn't half going on a bit....

21.
@Low End Bee - I live in Ealing right near you. Just bought a retrovibe RV5 which is coming tomorrow. Out of curiosity which service did you take it to? BasherT P.S. When's the next gig? I may have to come along!
I go to Chandler's in Kew. Reassuringly expensive...... Andrew was the guy who did it. Next gig is this Saturday Stadium gig
22. Waiting for Happy Jack's post about Saturday's gig with the tanked up post Ascot ladies who got up on stage at a couple of points. One of them did release the puppies by mistake while dancing at the front later on but I think she had her back to the band. Most entertaining.
23.
Interesting this. I had a dead G about six weeks ago. Emailed them and they haven't got back yet.
I had a dead G in a pack of DR Black Beauties a couple of sets back that I got from String Busters. I emailed them at 3pm. I got a phone call from them at 3:30pm. I had a new G string (oo err) in the next mornings post. I don't mind paying a bit extra and not importing them because of that sort of service.
24.
Rush
It'll pass
25. Excellent entertainment HJ. My road manager got very excited when you played one of his favourite songs ever. I even forgive you for the jazz bassy thing with the boat race headstock. It sounded great. As did the front spoiler from KITT.
