1. No worries Mr C. We're expecting quite a good turn out. A couple of mini buses are coming over from Kent! If anyone can make it .This is the gig of ours I'd recommend going to. We always play well at the Half Moon and are much better with a stripped down all killer 45 minute set. The Len Price 3 are brilliant live too. It's going to be a proper old school sweaty rock n roll night. Everyone involved is really up for this.
2. "I knew you wouldn't mind but I went back to the studio on my own and re-did my vocals. I kind of whisper the whole song now. I also kinda got the producer to put some spooky keys on it too.You know? Like a kids piano type of thing. Oh and some rain & thunder sound effects, They really ramp up the vibe. That all? Oh yeah there was a chick screaming and some gun shots. The mix is great I got him to put some filthy fuzz on your bass track too. Sounds awesome. I didn't put the church bell on in the end. Don't want to overdo it do we? Don't worry it didn't come out of band funds and We didn't waste any time 'cause I got him to send the master straight off...... Why are you all looking at me like that?" No exaggeration either. The beginning of the end of the previous band
3.
To be fair, that big ole headstock does remind me of a Peavey...
Or the Titanic's rudder
4. True. It's very handy all this frequency shaping and it really works. In the OTB's defence. If you're not cutting through a little nudge on the master volume seems to be all you need.... The TC is definitely going to lose an outright volume war. I think I'll keep both. The TC for DI assisted venue gigs and the OTB for the pubs and non DI stuff.
5. TFL tells me I can't make it in the 5 minutes after our set from Putney to Denmark St either Maybe next time we'll be on the same bill?
6. We're on in the middle 9-10pm The Len Price 3 are my favourite band at the moment. So I'm dead chuffed to be playing with them. The Past Tense are another cool trio too, £6 0n the door.
7. http://www.myspace.c...filter=featured I'd welcome any feedback. Good or bad. It's hard to be objective when it's your own stuff.
8. Looks like a transfer upgrade to me.....
9. Now on Amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/Second-Extended-Player/dp/B005SL3ALW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1317842951&sr=8-1 as I know there's a lot who don't do the iTunes thing.
10. I've more than made it according to my expectations of five years ago. I think I could certainly handle a lot more though. I'm doing the stuff I like without compromise but with a little of the wisdom/experience that comes with being 48. Other people seem to like it too. Kids like old duffers like U2 for example. Why wouldn't they like us? Our last gig the audience was aged from 17 to a couple of noisy guitar rock fans in there 60s. They all seem to have had a good time. This is a particularly British perception that originals bands should quit if they haven't made it by 30 and start doing covers. Song writing is the big buzz for me. We're not like previous generations. We've grown up with rock n roll. Why should our access be shut off to it when we get older? We should be venerated like the old blues men were in the 60s The quality of songs and performance is in my opinion far more important than age. Obviously we may have to try a little harder than younger bands. That's granted. As long as you mean it. Do it. Oh and Happy Birthday too Mr Big Red X. But remember it's just a number.

13. Update. Rehearsed on Thursday with it through just one RS112 as a mini rig. I'd forgotten how to use an amp that has an EQ that makes a difference. A bit of fiddling and I got there. Sounded great in the mix and pretty easy to get close to my OTB sound. Happy. Gig on Saturday. Grey Horse in Kingston. Medium sized room. Used it with the RS210 and RS112. Had to fiddle with the EQ again to match the room. It's feels ultra sensitive compared to other amps I've used. This is a good thing. Fairly easy to get it right. Went DI to the desk as well. Sound man had no problems with the signal. I let Ollie/blackmn90 use it as well. Pleased he bought a Precision as I was using mine. It sat perfectly in the mix with his band. It was up against two Marshall half stacks too. Sounded good on stage and I got some nice 'bass sounded good' comment post gig. Handled the treble roll off for our dub song with ease. Very impressed. Wondering if I need the OTB at all now!
14. Loving this song a lot at the moment. Short and lots of fun.
15. Oh yeah. There was cake too. Went down very well. No food fights thankfully.
16. We had great support from Nine Miles South who are blackmn90 (Ollie's) band. Very impressed with these lads. Good crowd who were up for it. A couple of random young dancing ladys at the front which is always nice. It was hot. Not just hot but Swedish sauna HOT. We were dripping buckets. Very sweaty old school gig. We played one of our best I think. Lots of energy and the new songs went down really well. We had great feedback afterwards. I took my new TC Classsic instead of the Orange and the DI was miles better. It sounded great. Very happy with it. Not the huge lumps of volume that the Terror has but it was so much easier to adjust the EQ for the room so that it cut through really well. Got a few 'the bass sounded good' comments so I'm a happy bunny. Roll on the Half Moon on 14th October. PS I decided to live on the edge. Just took the Precision and no spare. Got tired of lugging an extra bass that I've never used. Felt like a Maverick. With my sack trolley and the new TC set up I took all my gear to and from the car to the venue in one trip.
17. I can recommend Ollie's band. Tight, good musicians and good songs. No fuss. We were impressed.
18. New EP will be on sale at the gig
19. What could possibly go wrong? Have an excellent one TB one three.
20. We gots finished mixes! It's been like working on Chinese Democracy waiting for this. Only the tunes are better I'm made up at how good it sounds. The first recording I've done where I don't feel we've compromised to get it done. Coming to itunes, Amazon and CD very soon.
21. Join the cafe society. We'll be playing a hatful of new songs. There's a 50/50 chance that the new EP will be ready and printed too. I normally like to be modest but we're pretty hot at the moment.
22. Just tell him. "Thanks for his interest and good luck for the future. You weirdo."
23. Thanks to Danweb22 I now have a new toy. It'll be very interesting to compare to my Orange Terror. I bought it because: 1. Having no back up amp makes me nervous. 2. I already have TC cabs and love them. 3. The DI on the OTB is very hit and miss at PA assisted venues. 4. I only needed 3 reasons to buy a new toy. Home playing is encouraging. But tells me nothing really. Rehearsal on Thursday and a PA gig on Saturday will be a true test. Looks lovely. Like a heavy duty ipod dock.
24. I've just bought a TC 450 Classic from Dan. Possibly the easiest, smoothest deal I've ever done. Thanks Dan.
25. A spotless early 60s Epiphone Rivoli in Natural finish. Bought and sold for £105 many years ago. Not because it was nice or anything. Just because I could have made a few bob. No regrets otherwise.
