1. I have the odd foray into upsetting the rest of the band with a Digitech Bass Synth Wah. Pretty funky and 30 quidness of cheap from ebay.
2. Nearly 600 views now Just bringing it to your attention in case you missed it when we were a cult.... New video being planned to coincide with the 3rd EP launch. Extras from West London will be required!
3. Not had a problem with mine. Played small to medium venues with it both DI and unassisted. Are you using TC cabs with it?
4. Wanting to exactly replicate the recorded version of a song called 'Do Anything You Wanna Do' <ironysmiley>
5. I bet it goes Woof!
6. The avocado bathroom of Fender finishes. I've always quite liked it in a perverse way.
7. I love any kind of feedback. The praise makes you feel good and any constructive criticism is useful. I love talking to people after a gig.
8. As for basses. Whatever you could beg, borrow or steal. Lots of hideous copies. My Avon EB0 was par for horribleness.
9.
For me, punk can be split into 2 parts: Part 1 - Pistols, Clash, Buzzcocks, Damned, etc. Bands that all looked remarkably different from one another, and in fact, the band members themselves looked different from each other. All the bands looked odd maybe, but easy to tell apart. Part 2 - GBH, Exploited, Anti Nowhere League, Discharge etc. Bands that looked very similar, with, to an outside view, a set "look". Both parts had their great bands, and some not so good ones. For me, I prefer the earlier stuff, though have selections of both in my music collection.
I'm Part 1 all the way. Fresh, exciting and inventive. The Part 2 mob in the mmost part do nothing for me. 'Anarchists' with unwritten rules........ The true glory of punk was making kids realise you don't have to be a virtuoso before you start a band and promoting a DIY ethos to getting things done outside of the established record companies. Fanzines and home made singles are the blogs and soundclouds of today. You're probably more punk than you know
10. I would say don't try to fill up the sound too much. There are far more opportunities for dynamics in a stripped down line up. The gaps are my favourite bits and you can make a virtue out of them. We don't have too many conventional solos in the set and there's a lot of just bass and drum action. When the guitarist is having a widdle I tend to simplify my (already simple) lines a touch. Ditching the rhythm guitarist was the best thing we ever did.
11. Yeah shame Nicky isn't up to it. Ratty on drums more than makes up for it though. Monster drummer.
12.
Have a great one, Ad!
We did! 14. You can't learn style Doctor J.
15. We've been asked to do this a few times. I ask them if the bar staff and cleaners have to meet the same terms and conditions in order to provide their services. Then I tell them that in my opinion they are in the music business for all the wrong reasons but we're not.
16. Played the Tropic at Ruislip with the Members last night. Probably the most fun I've had at a gig. We played really well and had a queue for CD signings when we came off. Had great feedback from the punters and couldn't even go for a slash without someone wanting to chat about the band. Great time warp night. Like a really good natured late 70s gig. Main band were bloody good value too. Here's a review http://retroman65.bl...-at-tropic.html Here's me with some old drummer.
