1. I bought this new less than a year ago and I've decided it's time to move it on. Despite my dogged persistence, I've decided I'm not, nor am I ever going to be a fretless player so it's not getting played. It's in 'as new' condition and is currently strung with DR Black Beauties - which are 2 weeks old. I've only used flats or coated strings with this so there's no damage to the fretboard apart from the usual very light marks that appear as soon as you start playing the thing. It sounds immense and is easy to play - it's pretty light too. For the sake of good form, I'll tell you there is one small issue which I believe is fairly common on these basses, there are a couple of fret markers above the 12th fret which aren't fully seated in their slots and so a couple of frets somewhere around the 14th/15th frets choke a bit. Notes below the 12th fret are unaffected. It's never bothered me as I never venture that far up the neck so I've not bothered getting it repaired. I would imagine it's a simple fix with a tube of glue and a steady hand but in any case I've taken this into account with the price. The bass cost me just over £500 + £45 for the strings so I think £300 is a [s]fair [/s] sorry I meant ridiculous price. If you want the brand new Warwick gig bag I keep it in then I'll be looking for £330 I might be tempted to trade upwards with cash from me for a nice Ray or Spector and might consider a good 2x10 cab. I'd prefer collection but will deliver / meet within a reasonable distance - sorry I'm not posting.
2. Tonight's the night...
3. I have an Ibanez Gary Willis GW35 fretless which I bought new for £500 - they seem to go for about £350 second hand and sound amazing. I would highly recommend a GW if you can find one where the fret markers at the dusty end are seated properly. It seems a fairly common fault that one or two tend to stick up choking notes making the neck unplayable above the 12th fret. I don't venture that far as my intonation isn't that brilliant.
4. This one..aaaaaaggggggghhhhhhh
5. Very nice Pedro
6. Yo Pedro - sorry you're having to sell this, I know how much love it. Hope you're ok mate
7. Thanks once again John - I think we're coming your way around March / April ...er... Bury Met is one gig and there's another just being arranged at the Square Chapel in Halifax I believe. We're also back at the Playhouse 2 in Shaw sometime in April.
8. Thanks fella - yep I'm sticking with them, it's great to play with musicians of this standard. I've decided this is the last band I'll play in - I don't think I could go back to playing pubs (are there any left?) or clubs cos I'm spoilt now.
9. I have mate - messaged you on Facebook
10. Unashamed bump.
11. Stunningly spiffnifficent in all its gorgeousity - I love Dingwalls I do
12. +1 for Lindy Fralins
13. Not a fan of Nordstrand pickups at all, I replaced the Nordy DCs in my Shuker with some custom made Wizards costing half the price and they totally transformed the instrument.
14. Utterly gorgeous - Alan makes superb fretless basses.
15.
So, how much do you want for it?
I'd sell my ollies first
16. Very very nice Nick
17. The top's Camphor - you can actually get a whiff of it when you open the case and it's been in these a day or two which is a bit puzzling when you consider the amount of lacquer Jon applies to his basses. Really loving the DR Black Beauties - they sound and feel great.
18.
Beautiful Bass Plays and sounds as good as it looks! Chuffed you're happy as Larry with it mate. Lovely.
Yesh yesh yesh...shmoke and a pancake?
19. I've posted pics of this before and before some arsehole says it, yes it does look like a coffee table but I think it's looking even more shexual and toit with some DR Black Beauties on. This bass -originally made for Old Git, has completely killed off my GAS and will see my playing days out.
