1. Damn...I'm going to be thinking about this all day and dreaming up ways of raising the money
2. You have excellent taste in basses Chris - getting tire of that 6er yet?
3. Owned one Sterling and 4 Rays - much prefer a 2EQ Ray - much warmer and fatter IME. The Sterling is a superb bass too, I guess it comes down to personal preference.
4. I couldn't get the 'Ray tone out of my Sandberg when I had it Pedro - kinda close but I concur with ezbass.
5. Nice looking combo - got my juices flowing.
6. I have no luck with BM - every time I ring to buy something, they never have what they advertise in stock That said, I have bought some stuff off them and always get good service. I'd like to visit their shop.
7. Huwberry - you make me want to practice and buy a Stingray - great stuff as always.
A couple of mistakes, but I didn't want to spend too much time on it:
8. Big +1 from me - I had one with the NTMB preamp and it was a cracking bass.
9. Have to see how tomorrow's band meeting goes first but this wonky fret wonder is on the backburner for now. Thanks for all the good advice and support fellas.
10. If I come over I'll bring my Shuker - just had a U Retro 5 knob Deluxe installed - nice.
11.
You are more than welcome to pop down for a coffee - although I am thinking about swapping it for another Sadowsky...
Bloody hell ...another Sadowsky - things are looking up on the East Coast
12. Hoping to get there on Sunday band permitting.
13. How ya getting on with it?...Might have to come over to Hull soon.... I have really bad GAS for a Dingwall
14.
Looks nice though, but would you go for a solid finish at that price ?
No choice as far as I know Matt it only comes in solid colours. If you look at the Dingwall website you'll see a nice paler blue - that'd be the one...oh yessssssss
15. I here what you're saying Happy Jack but after playing theatres to sit down paying audiences for the last 18 months, I don't think I can go back to playing in pubs to 6 people hence my decision. I've beet gigging for nigh on 43 years and done if not all but most of it and I just want to end with a nice taste in my mouth is all.
16. Very sadly, I think my band playing days are slowly coming to an end but undyturd, I still want to carry on playing the hallowed instrument. I wouldn't need all the stuff I have so I've totted up everything I have bass-wise and worked out that if I sold it all and put a bit of money towards it, I could afford something that is so shexxy it makes my teeth itch....erm this... I have serious GAS for this work of art but is £3.5K too much for something that'll never leave my house?
17.
Save your money for a bit. They'll soon drop their prices when no one's buying the stuff.
Exactly
18. Fuse blew in my GK head just as we were about to start - I had no spare with me and we were in the middle of nowhere. I had to do the gig playing straight into the PA and it sounded dreadful but I think I got away with it.
19. Bloody Nora - I'm thinking of going out and buying either a Lakland Skyline 5 string jazz or Fender US 5 string jazz just so I can trade for this...
20. Thanks Dan - that's what I needed to know. I'll put one on my shopping list.
21. I have one, it's my fifth MB head and IMO, the best of the lot. Despite what some people say, the tube does add a bit of fullness / warmth to the overall tone but I bought it for the extra features mainly - DI control / mute switch / tube if you want it etc which I think are worth the extra over the LMIII. I'd recommend it to anyone.
22. Can't think why you would need 2k?
23. Sorry to be a pain and excuse my stupidity and ineptitude etc. but....I've just downloaded the trial version onto my other PC (which has 2GB RAM) and I'm really impressed with it. So much so I want to buy it but are there any advantages / disadvantages to downloading online as opposed to buying the disc version? The other thing is, when I acquired a copy of GP5..ahem, it came with a huge library of songs to play along to - does this come with GP6?
24. ..and no bloody slapping which I despise because I can't do it
