1. I'd have to outsource that - if I did it, it would look like the surface of the moon after I'd finished.
2. This is driving me absolutely mad - I can't play my Gary Willis fretless high up the neck because it chokes on the 16th fret. Notes above the 16th fret aren't too bad but when I look down the neck I can see white fret markers sticking up a bit up around there. I've tried tapping them down but they seem loose in the groove and won't site correctly. Any ideas?
3. Nice basses Russ - you keeping the combo?
4.
That's fab, lovely playing there sir, and a beautiful tone from the 'ray, love it.
+ 1 from me too - nice playing and now I have Stingray GAS
5. Cracking venue - looks like this... Cracking band...sounds like this...
6. Played at the Playhouse 2 in Shaw near Oldham on Sat night - it's a nice, intimate 200 seater with a great atmosphere. Used my new rig for the first time and got some nice compliments from the band and from a few of the audience too. Here's a few pics - one setting up and two mid gig taken by the theatre photographer...
7. We sounded so good at rehearsal yesterday - even I'm thinking of going..
8. Great to hear from you Anndra
9. I think I'm going to have to buy one Chris - I can't see this selling in the current climate. Plenty of offers to buy one cab but that's not really any use to me unless the other bits go too. I certainly won't cry if I have to keep it - it's the best rig I've ever used.
10.
Yep, I'm doing OK Alan, hope your hip/back settle down for you,
I need a new hip but I'm trying to put it off as long as possible.
11.
Fancy a part trade for a Markbass LM2 and an Epi UL112. I'd only want the one GS112. Very lightweight, I have a trolley that it fits on. I've taken it on the London tube loads of time to gigs.
Thanks but I have something in mind already
12.
Note sure it's an option but the Mesa Walkabout 12 combo I now use easily matches the volume of the AI and 2 GS112s I used to use, plus the tone is fantastic. A little heavy but might be an all in one option for you. Anyone who buys this Aggie setup will be very happy indeed
Hell mate - I remember you saying you were going to buy a Boogie - glad you're enjoying it Tom. A Walkabout would probably be perfect for me but I guess it isn't going to be easy selling this ATM.
Great looking set up!! I have an Aguilar pre in one of my basses and an Aguilar Tone Hammer as well, and am very happy with the tonal range available and the fundamental Aguilar sound that's there if i want it, so I imagine this rig sounds pretty amazing! Good luck with the sale
Hi Nik, I have the Tone Hammer too mainly as a back up / DI but I use it for recording too - excellent piece of kit. The rig does truly sound fantastic and I think my main band will be a bit gutted if it goes but my ageing body demands that I get something easier to carry.
13.
Indeed, looks a very fine mini rig there. I don't get it tho, weight is a thing but you'll trade for a 3x10 or 4x10 UL...how light are those things then..?
Epifani cabs are very easy lifts and don't feel that much heavier than a GS112 - I've owned both in the past. It's not just the weight factor - two cabs means two trips. My main band only does theatres so the get ins can be a bit distant sometimes (yeah I know I can buy a trolley). The other thing is I have to keep my gear upstairs at home so one cab = 1 trip. Both bands DI everything so it's possible to get away with a smaller rig.
14. Thanks Paul - hope you're well my friend.
15. I truly love this rig but I have a hip and back problem that's deteriorating rapidly and need something a lot lighter. The head is in mint condition, racked from day 1 in a new Boschma case (the best IMO), it also has a row of plug sockets on the back which is really useful and two OBBM leads as you can see in the pic below. The two channel foot-switchable head would cost you a grand or maybe a bit more if new, the rack case another £65, the plug thingy another £40 plus £25 for the cables. I'd be looking for £750 for the head which includes the extras described above. I also have a GS112 and GS112NT in very good condition which I'd sell for £425 for the pair. The problem is I'm in two working bands and need a rig during the transition. I realise that it's unlikely I'll sell the thing complete so a split will probably be necessary. Just bear this in mind because timing etc may be an issue but if you're interested in anything, let's talk. I don't want to ship but will deliver items within a reasonable distance or meet halfway. I'm not interested in any trades unless it involves a mint condition Epifani UL310 or UL410. Pics
16. Just wonderin' if anyone has one of these new cabs and if so waddya think of it? Thanks to a worstening hip/back condition, I'm seriously thinking of selling my Aguilar rig for something lighter and quite like the look / spec of these.
17. Greeneking's 62RI is/was the nicest P I've played, can't see Ps getting much better than that really.
18. I like an anodised gold s/p on sunburst, but it isn't everyone's cup of tea.
19. I need a white Jazz with a rosewood fretboard and tort plate for a new project. Trouble is, I'm skint after my holiday so I can only trade for my mint condition Ibanez Gary Willis (lined) Fretless 5 plus maybe a bit of cash. I'm not interested in any other bass or any other colour. It looks exactly like this but I'll get some pics up asap.
20. Big +1 for Sandbergs - superb basses.
21. I'd love this - should never have sold mine. Anybody want a pair of Aguilar 112s?
22. Date: Saturday, 17 July 2010 Time: 19:00 - 22:00 Location: Playhouse2 Newtown Street Shaw OLDHAM OL2 8NX Tel: 01706 847 281 Ticket details to follow but I'm pretty sure you can pay on the door.
23. I play in two bands, it used to be three but that was too much for me. My 'main' band only gig once a month which isn't enough for me - I was gigging two or three times a week with my last band so I joined another to keep activity levels up. I told the second band when I joined that my 'main' band comes first if gigs clash and they accepted that knowing a few deps were available. So far, that's happened only once and it worked out fine.
