1. Sold my Gramma Pad to Nige - a seamless transition. Great bloke to deal with
2. ooh come to Preston you beauty )
3. I'm in the market for a decent compressor - haven't been using one for a couple of years but after changing my rig recently, I feel that I need one again to even things up a bit. I've had a TC Comp Nova, Demeter Copulator and owned 2 Multicomps - they all did the job beautifully. Like you Dan, I quite like the look / spec of the TC Nova Dynamics one but it looks a bit complex for an old fart like me and got a bit of a mixed review on TB (Bongomania) I quite fancy one of these new Markbass jobbies but they ain't cheap.
4. I absolutely love jazz but I don't know anything about it or who the f*ck's playing it. I just sit and let it wash over me.
5. We do something similar - this vid is of my band playing Wolfstone's The Howl at Whitworth Festival - not particularly tricky to play but it took me a long time to learn it...
6. Everything sells if the price is right - trouble is, you have to take a big hit if you want to sell anything at the moment.
7.
Hi new member here, this is me last sunday with my band HAROT at Culver Stockton Auditorium.
Welcome to the forum - nice bass.
8. Nice compact rig Rich - are they the same Eden cabs you've had for a while?

I don't know what to say, I'm shocked and absolutely gutted. RIP Si, condolences to the family and all his friends.
11. Played at the ACE Centre in Nelson last night - only about half full but I guess that's a sign of the times. First set was spoilt by the midi controller on the keyboards playing up. Fortunately the really excellent soundman Steve is a keyboard player with a band called Legend and he managed to fix it at half time. Second set was absolutely stonking and we and the audience had a great time.
12. I think it may be sold - just waiting to confirm.
13.
Yup, i'll take a swing at it. I'll pm.
Replied
14. OK last bump and final reduction - will be withdrawn on Monday.
15. What a fantastic tone Russ I would say the biggest turning point musically for me was the album that had the most profound effect on me and that was Hot Rats - it completely changed my outlook on music.
16.
who is the support? what time do you go on? what time do you finish? cheers
PM sent - but here's the gist; 7:00 doors open support goes on approx 7.45 Silver Dogs on stage for 1st set 8:40 on stage for 2nd set 9:50. Finish about 10.40 The support is Andrew Turner (our keyboard player) who's doing a short set with a friend of his whose name escapes me. If anyone can make it, please make yourself known to me and I'll buy you a pint.
17. I switched to a combo and promptly switched back in a matter of weeks. I think combos are fine for rehearsal and small gigs but I've never heard a combo that had enough welly for anything else.
18.
Good luck mate, looks like you found a really good gig now! P
It's a totally different world Paul and I love every minute of being in this band, I just wish we could gig more often.
19. If I were you, I'd borrow a bit and buy that 5 string Shuker that's up at the minute.
20. Bump for price reduction
21. It's bigger and heavier than the Epifani - it's about 62lbs I think.
22. Here's my latest rig. I used to love my old rig - an Aguilar AG500 + two GS112s but it was heavy and required three lifts, which isn't funny when you've got arthritis. Anyway, I bought this staggeringly good Accugroove Whappo jnr from my good mate Cameron (wayne58). It's on castors so now my bass goes on my back and my Little Mark Tube head and bits bag go on top of the cab and I wheel it all in to the stage in one go - needless to say my back / dodgy hip are much happier. It's a fairly easy lift into the car and the whole lot just wheels in to Harry Potter's cupboard under the stairs when I get home. I'm really happy with it and it's drawn a lot of positive comments. It's very articulate, deep and it literally shakes the ground and when I was soundchecking at our last gig, the sound engineer came down from the control room to see what my rig was and he said he hadn't heard anything as good. I opted for the tube version of the LMIII because of the extra bit of control DI'ing and the mute switch helps. Blending the tube in does make a difference to the tone too.
23. One week to go
