  1. Get the TC Sub N Up Mini. Not exactly cheap (£88 new), but much MUCH better than the plastic Behringer, and smaller than even the POG Mini (the video above is the Micro POG). Also allows full editing of the controls with some software, tone prints etc etc Si
  2. I've always thought Ashdown have had excellent customer service. Will never forget the time I was invited over to the HQ for my ABM EVOII to be repaired when it died a few days before a tour. Think I left with a carry bag, a pedal, a mug and an amp with a fully replaced preamp section, above and beyond. Personally speaking, I think it's great that manufacturers engage on forums, I certainly try and do that here with my Focusrite/Novation had on (where appropriate). But in any case, I also struggle to see the market here a little....or rather I see the market (recording), but can't imagine it's particularly huge?! 30 tube watts is not enough for me to gig with 80% of the time, and I'd certainly not drop £499 on a practice/rehearsal amp. Interested in it as a recording setup, but again, lots of amazing tube DI's on the market (arguably more expensive), so it's only beneficial if you want to record a tube amp through a cab?! I would need convincing. Now if a company were to fit a 100w all-tube setup into this size amp, we're talking Anyway, not an Ashdown bash, love the company, always have Si
  3. Doesn't look much like a CT to me, more like a finished Wishbass, definitely wouldn’t drop £1k on it!! Si
  4. Thanks very much! Si
  5. You don't find the LB's 'too dull'? Presumably you still get the note definition that you need?! I don't have any issues with the Chromes that I have, I really like the tone I'm getting, but always interested in whether there are 'better' flats for my Precision Cheers Si
  6. Perfect, thanks very much! Si
  7. Can anyone with direct experience of D’addario Chromes and Deep Talkin’ Flats (steel) on 34” necks comment on how (if at all) the tensions between the two sets differ? Cheers Si
  8. Love this!! And I’m quite close. Can’t though GLWTS!! Si
  9. So what are we saying is ‘low budget’? Si
  10. Very cool Si
  11. I'd absolutely suggest doing that, rather than continuing to get angry at something you might not need to. Without wanting to speak for them, I can't imagine they'd have a problem swapping your ticket, it's a legit reason. But yes, if they're being slow replying to enquiries, that's frustrating. Si
  12. I gigged a KSD 5 string for a few months (borrowed from a mate), and it was nice enough, weird preamp though. Not sure I like the 3x3 headstock on a Jazz.....but as long as it works for you and sounds good Si
  13. Have you asked if they'll swap your days? Si
  14. Never played one, but just from the photo, the upper fret access looks.....uncomfortable at best. Si
  15. Ernie Ball strings are known to die pretty quickly, try something like the Dunlop Super Brights or D'Addario NYXLs, basically anything steel that has more life to them than EBs lol Si
  16. Oh possibly, now I'm re-reading it. Yeah.....don't do that. lol Si
  17. Will someone (a dealer/Ibanez) please do a video of it in a musical context!!! Si
  18. It's really common. You'll probably have to adjust the nut a bit (the B string might be thicker than the groove currently cut for your E string), but other than that, shouldn't be much to do. Depending on the tension of the strings, a slight truss rod adjustment might be necessary, but that depends on the brand really. There shouldn't be much tension difference between a 4 string set made up of a low B or a high G all other things being equal. So it just depends on whether you have a reason to do it Si
  19. I have a Lakland 55-01 and it really punches above it's price IMO. The J-Sonics also look very cool! Both are 35" scale and will probably set you back about £400-£600 used. Si
  20. I had a play of a couple at NAMM last week, I have to say that the black 32" Sacramento I tried, with two BiSonics, was absolutely brilliant. Easy to play and sounded really really good! I want one! Si
  21. Doesn't sound like an upright, harder to play than a fretless electric, swing and a miss for me. My only thought is that this is for upright players who want to play electric fretless, but don't like playing electric?! Si
  22. All I can do is echo the above, the SC is the tonal equivalent of the G2 Compact & G2 Midget combination. I actually use a SC with a G2 midget on top a lot of the time, for nothing else than a little extra reinforcement closer to my ear (vertical stacking etc). Si
  23. I also wonder whether some brands are using roasted maple fingerboards as an easy visual alternative now that CITES is making rosewood a lot more difficult. Si
  24. Don't suppose anyone in the Hemel Hempstead/High Wycombe areas has a Kala U-bass (or very similar) that I might borrow for some recording? If it gets the result I want, may well purchase one. Cheers

Stableyard Music at Hatfield House have a large range of Ukes - you'll probably have to visit them to see which are any good.

Cheers for that Mick, although hoping to borrow and record one first to see if it does what I need :)
