I’ve got Pro17s and they’re perfect (for me). Maybe you just play much quieter gigs/rehearsals?! Or your hearing is already knackered. Si
-
I’ll let him know if you like 🤣 Si
-
Its like half an evenings work to take the bass off the tracks and re-bounce (assuming they have access to the sessions to do it themselves). Lazy!
-
Probably worth noting that the Begringer Octave & BDI have their own clean blends. Not sure which Line 6 echo you have, if it’s the Echo Park, that has a clean blend. Can’t see that the Phaser does though. Si
-
I figured not everyone trawls through however many pages of generic Octaver talk to read about one particular pedal Si
-
Took me probably an hour to download and install all 4 things. You on a slow connection? Si
-
Not anymore, but for 6months or so I had an XJ1T 5 'Light' in Shoreline Gold with Rosewood fingerboard. It was a beauty. Will post a pic if I can dig one out! Si

Nice, just picked up and installed the Brass/Woodwind/Strings orchestral packs. A step up from Logics sounds and £11 for the bundle!! Plus the free Izotope Elements too (although not sure how much I'll use that). Si

Phil Jones does a 2x7": Si

I'm often playing on Saturdays, but if you're ever back in Hemel for gigs, let me know. My hood innit! 🙅♂️ Si P.s. Interesting bass! lol

https://www.musicradar.com/news/jim-dunlop-gets-the-jump-on-namm-2019-with-3-new-launches On the Dunlop website, but understandably no mention of the OC-2, although with the Music Radar mention, and the control layout, looks pretty clear-cut. Haven't heard it yet. https://www.jimdunlop.com/product/m280-7-10137-11033-5.do?sortby=ourPicks&refType=&from=fn&ecList=&ecCategory= I actually really appreciate that it sticks with the -1 & -2 settings, means that there's still a marketplace for both it and the COG T-16, which is amazing. Two pedals, same vibe, different use cases. Horray for pedals 😍 Si P.s. The mini ISO brick also looks brilliant!

Cheers, I found a pack of 5 Mooer ones on for 3.99 inc postage in the uk. But as you say, they look the same. How you finding them? Si
-
For anyone reading this after the fact, also check out the sE V7’s, also very good and for not much money (the V3 is even cheaper). Si
-
Wonder if the shop swapped them?! It's been a long while since I bought Fender strings, but I always thought they were black silks. I can highly recommend the La Bella Mustang Flats. Specific for Mustangs as they have a little extra silk at the ball end to cater for the through-body bridge. You can get them from Bass Direct Si
-
Are they still using flats of the wrong length? Ie the wound part of the strong around the posts? Is the gig bag still just a full sized bass one? They do look really great, them being released prompted me to pickup up my MIJ Mustang! Si

I have just realised that it's a 14 year old product, so there's a good chance that schematic from Mackie might be forthcoming (clearly it's not in warranty still lol). So you might find someone to fix it, however finding spares of they're not generic parts might be tough. As you say, 14 years for a gigged mixer is decent, maybe move on Si

Probably worth bearing in mind that all hardware developers will have access to new OS's for development way before they're released, so it's always a bit strange to me when a company isn't quite on the ball when it comes to full release (unless Apple changes something significant). The trick is to Google and see if their are other Quad Capture users having issues with Mojave, if not, could still be some strange localised behaviour on your machine.....that's when their technical support should be able to step up and troubleshoot with you. If it is a Mojave issue, I would expect Roland to acknowledge that. Si
-
Either it's an issue with an unbalanced cable allowing some extraneous noise from something else in the studio (does the problem also happen at home and with balanced cables?), or it's a hardware issue. If it's a hardware issue, you'll be relying on either your warranty with Mackie, or if outside warranty, how much it costs to have them fix it. If they're anything like us (Focusrite), they won't release any schematics to anyone who isn't an official service centre, so it's unlikely you'll find someone to fix it outside of their process. Si

Has anyone been using these Mooer switch toppers? http://www.mooeraudio.co.uk/c/accessories_switch-toppers I realise they're a cheap version of the Barefoot Buttons, but I'm largely just interested in adding a smidgen of height and area to a couple of footswitches rather than them being super comfortable. Any problems with them attaching to certain pedals? Si
-
Gah, typically you’re playing London (tonight) the same night as Richard Bona 🙄. Sorry, have a good one! Si

Not strictly. Pro Tools First has a cloud based storage system, the actual DAW needs to be installed on your computer. Pro Tools itself has moved to a subscription service, although you can purchase it up front too. Really not sure why someone would go for the AmpedStudio when Reaper is around.....sure'y it's a pretty fringe use-case that someone genuinely needs to be totally browser-based?! Si

There will always be a market for both, I think the previously mentioned 'split' already exists. There are a LOT of people who want to, and have the means, to support small companies making great hand-made goods. There are equally people who either don't have the means, or simply don't care about where/how their gear is made to support a more budget orientated market. You only have to see how well such companies as Abominable Pedals, Darkglass, Earthquaker, JHS, Mr Black are doing to see realise that people want boutique, they will pay for hand-made. In most cases (although not always) they will be better made and sound better, but actually, I don't think that's everything to the purchasers, they want to support small business, and like having a real relationship with small pedal builders, it's a very close-knit community. Something to do with you Mick? Si

No, largely because I knew I was including a clean blend, so would need to 'sculpt' the sound of the pedal too much. That said, I always socket my clipping diodes, so easy enough to swap those in and out for anything. My experience with the ODB-3 though, where I prefer the diode lift compared to the 4002 & LEDs means I might experiment with just removing the diodes from the Brutalist and bridging the connections. We'll see, sounds great as is. Si

Finally got round to building my Kurt Ballou Brutalist Jr, with an added Fuzzdog clean blend control (hence the slightly uneven pot spacing). Looks a bit of a rats nest top-down, but all the wiring is nicely layered, with moldable wire. I'll probably leave the top plain, maybe label the knobs with some old-school embossed labels. Sounds very cool! I also recently modded my Boss ODB-3 with the Monte Allums Try-Gain Plus mod. No guts shots because there's not much to see, replacement of about 10 components to smooth, thicken and tame the buzzy nature of the stock pedal into a nicer overdrive, including an IC replacement. The mod also adds the switch which let's you switch between 4002, LED & Diode lift clipping options. Also I added the sticker to make it even more ODB: Si
