  1. Thomann have them with a 30 day money back guarantee 😊 Si
  2. Serek's Sacramento fits the bill: https://www.serekbasses.com/basses/sacramento/ Although again, there seems to be a fine-line between hand-built and 'custom shop' in my mind. In that if something is hand-built, they're probably going to be able to accommodate a certain custom spec for you. In this case, simply asking Jake Serek for a Sacramento with a single pickup. Cheers Si
  3. So just to be clear, you want something hand-built.....but not custom shop? 😜 Si
  4. Has anyone had any experience of these yet. I'm potentially interested in a Serek short scale 5 string at some point, and although they're obviously going to be far-and-away a better bass than the Ibby (nothing against it), I thought it might make a decent and cheap experiment to see if I'm into the shorty 5er idea. Plus it's a passive P/J, which is basically perfect haha. Any thoughts? Si
  5. You’ll know better for the next batch huh 😉 Si
  6. Not surprised, cool bass, limited editions. If Jake puts out a 5 string version of it as a run, I’m in trouble. Probably unlikely at that price though. Very much looking forward to seeing each of the iterations though! Si
  7. Will do....hopefully we'll be back to it sooooon 🤞 Si
  8. Thanks very much 😊 Plenty of stuff on Spotify if you want to listen to more.....we should have been playing Pizza Express Holborn two nights ago 😞 Si
  9. Thanks, yeah I've been playing with Jocee for about 6 years now I think. We played a sold-out headline set at Hideaway in London and the venue decided they wanted to film it......fine by us haha. Yeah I was particularly happy with the bass tone, although to be fair, that bass was just killer in general, I really regret selling it (the person won't sell it back to me either....don't blame them). Cheers Si
  10. Gig it. Simple Si
  11. I’m in Si
  12. SOLD Got this as part of a part-ex a while ago, and it’s just lived in the case since then. It came to me with a broken preamp (just a broken off pot and capacitor, so pretty easy fix for someone). As a result, I converted it to fully passive, VVT and retaining the original jack plug on the side, the neck pot is now a push/pull to go between series/parallel, which is actually very useful on a Jazz. Obviously I’ll include the original preamp for you to have a fix of. Or leave it as it sounds fantastic as a passive bass. As new condition and I obviously have the original black scratch plate to go with it too. Collection only from Hemel or High Wycombe. No case. Fret wrap or LEGO magazines not included. No trades other than maybe an old Japanese built Precisiony type thing, Ibanez Blazer, Yamaha Precise etc etc. Cheers Si

  13. So they look like red silks to me?!
  14. I believe they're kinda a US based equivalent to Moollon, in that Mas really wanted to create vintage spec Precisions as accurately as possible, although he offers way more custom options than Moollon. For example some of his necks are flat-sawn (whereas it's commonly thought that quarter-sawn is 'better'), because that's what Fender did back in the day. I tried a few at NAMM, and they're excellent as you'd expect, just very vintage'y Fender style P's. From memory, I think they come in at about $3500 for a basic spec (ie before fancy woods etc). Here's one on Reverb (with a quarter-sawn neck interestingly) straight from them that would work out to probably close to £4000 with postage and VAT I imagine: https://reverb.com/item/34502862-olinto-by-la-bella Si
  15. Missed out on an Ibanez Blazer bass on Facebook last night....and now searching around for another (I want another P style bass for tape-wounds)....someone convince me I shouldn't? lol

Do they do a double-breasted version of the Ibanez Blazer?

You want a bunch of GAS loaded Basschatters to advise you not to buy something you want? Good luck 😂

  16. By all accounts, these were VERY well received by all who played them at NAMM in January. Si
  17. Yeah this isn’t a thing 🤣 Stunning P, wish I could (still got my Elrick to shift), GLWTS. Si
  18. Haha, this exactly! It mainly just seems that many people have realized they’re doing the ‘wrong’ gigs. Can’t wait to get back! Communicating onstage with other musicians by playing is were it’s all at for me. Si

  21. Hi there, You’re quite right in how you reference the differences between the Lakland US 44-64 I had (which I sold to pay for the Moollon), and now the P-Classic IV. The 44-64 was very much ‘modern vintage’, basically 60’s spec, but poly finish and a more modern pickup wind. Whereas the Moollon is as close as they can to 60’s vintage (ebony board excluded, although it looks the part). Other than that, I’d say they were equal with regards to general fit, finish and overall quality, both excellent. I still have my Lakland US 44-94, and it’s one of my fave basses ever. I should also mention that Lakland have a lot more customisable options available, if that’s important to you. Si
