1. It's not a VB, its an FMT Jazz Deluxe Si
2. My friend just picked up the 5'er version of the KSD with EBS pre for £600, very nice basses so have a bump! Also, might i suggest slightly amending the title of the thread, people might think you're selling a 'Bass Collection' brand bass! good luck Si
3. How are you finding the DiMarzio steve? I have the same p'up in my white Precision project! I really like it, growly but a lot hotter! I love the grain in that body, and the custom pickguard is growing on me! Si
4. Is this the Alder bodied version with US pickups? Si
5. First Signs Of Frost @ Luton Student Union tonight with 'Devil Sold His Soul' + others Poster below!! Hope to see a couple of people there! Cheers Si
6. I also wanna be there when tBBC asks the question!! :-D, am only just outside london with constant jaunts in. Maybe we should mount an 'intervention', all of us just turn up....."you know how you're perceived??" haha Si
7. A tiny bit like you? About 5'10", shaved head, balding, short beard, scottish! Si
8. +1 for Brian at Wunjo, top guy!! My friend bought a 1965 Gibson acoustic from him, nothing at all was to much hassle! Si
9. Yeah, I had noticed these in my subscription copy, but forgot to post about it! And yeah, Hi Ed, nice to have someone on the board doing well! Si
10. I did mate, but they seem to rate 'output' in different ways, DiMarzio with a number, SD with a little symbol. The DiMarzios have lower resistance though, suggesting that their output might be higher? God i'm such an electronics noob haha Si
11. I don't suppose anyone knows how these compare to DiMarzio Ultrajazz pickups, mostly in terms of output! Cheers Si
12. I'll have the strap buttons and corresponding screws off the butchered 6'er if you're getting rid of them! Looking forward to seeing more of this boyo!! Si
13. Cheers mate! (do you think they've noticed that me saying "thanks" bumps it again....ssssshhhh) Si
14. I think with Custom Shop stuff, you can have what you want, I've seen CS 70's basses. Like you said, you're not sure if its a Time Machine series or not so might just be a straight CS 'reissue'. I've seen second hand relics/CC's/NOS go for around £1,200! Not sure how 'standard' CS's match up against the Time Machine range price wise! I'd be semi-interested, but my Upright is still sitting here lol Si
15. Pre-gig bump Si
16.
This bass has had more owners in a month than I've had new Precisions in the same period
You've had a period? Si
17.
I joined my first band with a gig in two months. I went out the following Saturday and bought my first guitar. You can play along to cd's until your knob falls off. You only ever learn how to play music by busking/jamming with other people.
+1 Although its an old thread, another tip i'd throw into the hat is: Learn the parts of the songs so you know them like the back of your hand, don't worry to much about arrangements, unless a band has said that they do everything exactly like on the CD, most bands play about with arrangements so you should have an open mind and be listening out for the changes. Glad the gig went well! Si
18. Sounds good to me!! Programmed drums? The vocals get a tiny bit lost in the mix for me, could be just my speakers though. But yeah, great song! Si
19. By the look of the bridge it's headed!? Si
20. PM'd Zach Si
21. I got my (mint at the time) 2004 USA S1 Jazz (sunburst) for £275! But that was a silly good deal based on connections Sooo..... ...I reckon between £450 and £500 Si
22. Ohhhh that Benevente is the nicest singlecut 4 i think I've ever seen! I don't know whether to or Si
23. Where they had the Bass Bash couple of years ago? Life Cafe is it? Si
24. Ooook you lucky lucky buggers! July through to December covers dates are up as well now! Also a couple of extra FSOF shows, the posters for these will follow at some point soon. Cheers Si
25. The Bart MM's are really nice, I have one in my 'Thingray', and I had two in my Corvette $$, But they really do benefit from a preamp, Barts are really quiet passive! They come alive with a decent preamp! I'm using a 2 band East preamp in my Thingray Si
