1. Precisely Si
2. Oi thats my co-pilot you got there! lol Si
3. I guess its whether the solutions above actually save me any hassle over the ME-50b.....seeing as the Resonance control/sounds on the foot pedal are great. A filter pedal plus expression pedal isn't saving me space. Si
4. Most of the sounds I use are pretty clean actually, there are synths layered over the top for dirty sounds. I'm more interested in providing the sub and supportive bass sounds. I've owned and used an EHX Micro Synth, nice piece of gear, but it got sold. Found the sliders too fiddly for quick changes live. Si
5. Hmmm I think what i want (which probably doesn't exist) is a sprung Wah (bad horsie styley), with a low-pass mod, that would be ideal lol Si
6. A bit labour intensive yeah, I have a couple if tunes in my hiphop/dubstep band that have every note swelled...I'm not riding the volume pedal for 8mins lol. Plus the Me-50b volume function has a noticeable notch between off and on, so it's hard to be consistent. As you might have guessed from my other thread, I'm vaguely thinking about replacing it for single pedals, but it's a great piece if kit, so we'll see Si
7.
Well, seeing as the original Slow Gear pedals are extremely rare and about a bazillion squid....
You're not joking, one on eBay £299 BIN Si
8. Cheers, I'll have a scout about. Yeah something bass-centric would be ideal! Si
9. No that's great, explains it a bit more for me!. Any idea as to what might be able to replace it as a single pedal. Any Bass Wah's that retain the bottom end like it, anyone tried the Morley?....is it sprung?! Lol Cheers Si
10. As the title suggests really, any bass pedals that slow the attack of a note? Essentially an auto-fade in I guess. Not a 'Reverse' as I don't want the note to cut off, decay as normal Cheers Si
11. On my Boss ME-50b the pedal can either be used as a Wah or a Resonance pedal. I seem to prefer the sound of the Resonance setting for effecting the other sounds I might be using. Can anyone shed any light on the actual difference between the two effects? Cheers Si
12.
Looks that way, shouldn't the pickguard have holes too for the ashtray? Its wonderful condition though
I can see holes in the pickguard. Although not sure I can see the holes carried through to the body??...having said that, they do tend to 'move' on older fenders, so wouldn't surprise me if the holes didn't align completely anymore. Tis lovely indeed! Si
13. C = 1.75 width at the nut B = 1.625 A = Jazz width (whatever that is...its late lol). Your '78 J will have an A neck But as mentioned earlier, those C necks tended to be have a more shallow depth than the B necks Si
14. I've tried a few 59's, 62's and 63's and although they have the wider neck, they all seemed much more shallow (compared to B necks), so equally comfortable after the initial adjustment to it. Si
15.
Nice one Si, great vibe to it as you say ,which band /s did you play with?? regards Keith
Band called Tin Soldier, I'm a southener, but the other guys were from Keswick/Cockermouth. Sam Hinde, Jamie Shill, Simon Thwaites if any of those names ring a bell Think we played 2 years in the row about 6 or 7 years ago Si
16. I've played the KBF a few times and was always tremendous fun, such a cool vibe about the whole event! Si
17. I was under the impression that Darwin Deez is the name of the band?! I like the Radar Detector song and that's about it Si
18. Your '72 is the maple sibling to my '71 'Sixshooter' here had an excellently refinished '59 that he was selling....I almost had it last year....beautiful bass Si
19.
Its all down to personal preference isnt it ? I love my J/P mongrel as listed below . . . . what exactly is the model of this Precision with a slim C neck . . . at the moment I wouldn't know what to look out for . . . is it a specific model ?
Oh yeah of course, I dunno what it is, I suppose for me, the sound and vibe a Precision emits, fits well with the chunkier neck.....makes me think about things differently than my Jazz, which is what I aim for when switching basses. Si
20. I had a Precision with a Jazz neck a while ago.....didn't get on with it.....something just wasn't quite right. I love my Jazz's neck, I love my Precision's neck.....but mix them and it doesn't gel with me for some reason...odd Si
21. That's cool man, cheers Enjoy it Si
22. Oh you're joking Put a wanted post up for one of these yesterday and everything... Wahhhh Si
23. Btw, I've merged the two Adam Clayton CS topics now Si
24. I think its cool! Remember that Gold Sparkle was a custom colour back in the day!....albeit very rare! Si
25. Clarky beat me to it And with a link that works, so I'll delete mine lol Si
