1. Thunderbolt has plenty of life left in it, Thunderbolt 3 will eventually be widely adopted over USB-C, and will be backwards compatible (as Thunderbolt 1 is with 2). So the worst case scenario in the medium term is needing a connection hub with Thunderbolt connections for computers which only have USB-C ports (*cough Apple *cough*). People get hung up on 'speed' and bandwidth, these things are important, but usually not too important for the kinds of recording projects we might undertake, we're mostly bothered about achievable latency and, really, USB 2.0 is more than capable for the relatively small projects (lets say 16 analogue channels simultaneously) we might undertake. If you are someone who presides over orchestra recording (a LOT of channels) or track with a lot of plugins/processing happening, you're the exception . Si Focusrite Technical Support
2. Yay for more Fuzzrocious Si
3. I see, so it effectively turns it into a sealed cab when vertical......almost?! Si
4. But the port is on the bottom of the cab?.....what happened to needing around 6" clearance for ports?! Si
5. I have one of these for home practice and have used it for small rehearsals with a soul band. Really love it, sounds good, and wonderfully transportable. Si
6. Absolutely stunning! Si

Boss CE-2W
I have the SD-1W, BD-2W, DM-2W and VB-2W. I went a bit Boss mad recently. I've not tried ONE with bass yet!
I often use an original DM-3 & VB-2 with bass and they sound fantastic . Got the Wazacraft TU-3 on the way too which is exciting. Si
8. Looks awesome Gary, glad to see you've decided to keep it for a bit! I actually didn't play this on purpose at the herts bash, not only would my '71 get jealous, but I was worried I'd be thinking about trying to buy it if I liked it haha. Out of interest, what colour/finish would you go for if/when you 'restore' it? I've seen some excellent work from Joseph Kaye in London, he refinished my friends '57 Strat, period correct paint and nitro (shipped by boat from america), and the relic job is top top draw. Si
9. Perfect, thanks all Si
10. So.....I should know this, but I'm unsure. Is there a difference between running two outputs to two speakers from your head, vs running one output from the head, then another from cab to cab? Currently I use the latter (daisy chaining cabs from amp output), but I'm considering some new cabs that would mean outputting two cables from the amp, one to each cab. Thanks Si
11. Depends what your budget is, but Xotic do really great 'super' Jazz basses, and they do a 24 fret version too. Certainly also checkout Maruszczyk, I would have bought an Elwood 5 if my Xotic XJ-1T 5 hadn't blown me away Si
12. Haven't done this mod, but the sound files on their website sound like a vast improvement! Si
13. Photos from my dad will hopefully be forthcoming this Sunday. Although my the time I get to upload them, probably be that I send them around on Monday Si
14. I think it actually looks really cool, I reckon it's just a CS build and won't come out as a signature, but if it did I reckon it would sell a lot. JazzRay in silver sparkle? Great stuff Si
15. Thanks, yeah TKS are on the radar, and I'll try them out at Bass Gear, but keen to try the Aguilars on a gig Si
16. Basically I'm considering a move to these cabs, but would really prefer to try and borrow a couple and getting them onto a function gig or two. Long shot, but let me know Si
17. Poop, shame you're not closer (i.e. I need to try some first haha). Si
18. Looks like a Maruszczyk Si
19.
Nano MIDI board (Subdecay Echobox in loop of Aftershock) .. so just the Moose to stomp on
Out of interest, what's the point of the Moose? Si
20. Interested to see this too Si
21. Oh man, this with D'addario flats will be awesome. Don't tempt me, I only just got down to 3 basses haha. I had a black/black/rosewood E series a few years ago (the serial prefix after SQ), and it was just brilliant, probably one of my very very few regretted sales. This will be an awesome P-bass for someone! Si
Those Xotics look amázing! How do they sound?
Really great to my ears, musical and intuitive preamp, great passive sound, I'm very happy Si
23.
Thanks! We'll start shipping these early next month! This one's a tad clearer and tighter in the low end. I just regret naming these series "Vintage". The Deluxe 2 and now the Ultra can get some pretty classic sounds but they can also go super aggressive. I'm mostly off forums these days (working on the amplifier and some other, perhaps cooler stuff) but I really look forward hearing what you guys think about this pedal. Regards, Doug.
I did think it sounded like it could go more aggressive than the standard VMT. Sounds great man!! Si
24. I just finished up recording an album at home for a singer, I simply plugged my Precision with flats into one of our (I work for Focusrite) Clarett 2Pres and it sounded fantastic. This isn't a sales pitch at all, but just an example of getting the right instrument, strings and interface for the project you're doing, and you don't need much else. When I sent the completely un-produced stems to the mix engineer, he commented that all he needed to do was to put on a light compressor on them and it sat in the track wonderfully. Si
