1. I use a mix of Wizard Trads, Seymour Duncan SPB-1 & the SD Antiquity range in my P-basses for a more vintage vibe. The Wizard stuff gets raved about a lot but in my mind SD just pips it. That said the UK stock is low right now & I've had an SPB-1 on order for a while now (about 3wk wait). I'd also agree with Ou7shined in trying a different tone capacitor. There is a guy on EBay who sells decent vintage spec ones. And I take it that you have experimented with your amp settings?
2. Potentially me too depending on location (a lot of the ones suggested are good for me)
3. Plus one... welcome to the forum
4.
We can start the exclusive BassChat punk rocker with a double bass club!
Failing that, Wayne just email the mods about changing your name to waynejazzdude Or would it be waynejazzcat?
5. Great pic

9. If only someone would post a video of somebody twirling a bass but without straplocks.... the trilogy would be complete!
10. It was only Roger McGuinn who played on The Byrds Mr. Tambourine Man so no Chris Hillman.
11. I'd suspect a mixture of the limitations of buyer collects & hard times. Most of my EBay purchases have gone on a relist this year and they always used to sell first time
12. We always vary & it's usually originals only so if we had a set opener I'd be amazed if anyone knew it

16. um, a bit weird!?!
17. Andy - You have my respect. A difficult but ultimately sensible and correct decision. Play the long game
18. Great pics
19. I've been filming my bands since 2006 on my Dad's Sony camcorder. I'm no expert but I would imagine technology has moved on since Dad bought the camera in 2004(ish). I find the sound quality is really good and the picture is as you'd expect with modern digital technology. I've seen footage shot on other cameras of friends who play in heavy bands and sometimes the sound suffers if the volume is too loud. We play with a mix of acoustic and electric instruments which always fairs well with the sound from the camera. So assuming you are not in a loud & heavy band I would have thought any camera would serve you well. I'd be guided by what others who play heavier stuff say if that is more your thing. These were the results from my friends heavy band which I think do them few favours and it may be unfair to compare as this is a better venue but my band sound much more listenable with my camera results In terms of lighting, you are often up against it in the pub venues. You can flip it to night vision for some interesting results but it's best just to position the camera out the way from backs of audience members heads and hope for the best. We have mixed results and I tend to use the outdoor footage / decent venue stuff for YouTube and the rest is just circulated within the band. It's always useful though as you can rip the audio track off poor quality footage and still use that for practicing or just listening.

23.
sorry for changing things, I don't really do selling my basses...
Don't worry about it. It looks good and is fairly priced (I'm half tempted myself but I'm downsizing, not looking to increase) so I'm sure it'll sell

25. Backing vocals can be the difference from an average band & a great band. My voice isn't very strong & I can do a passable vocal at best. I prefer not to sing these days as there are better singers in my current band thankfully. I do agree simplify the bassline whilst singing & tape some rehearsals. If your voice adds something, great but if not I wouldn't be afraid to have no backing vocals. I think a band with poor backing vocals can sound worse than one with no backing vocals (& I would assess song by song as certain keys will suit you better)
