It's a lot of pretty obvious stuff but loads of great photos and worth owning if you like Fenders. My wife usually does me proud bass wise every year but this year it all came a bit earlier due to a decent discount code from soundslive - so this year it was the Orange Terror 500 head.

I too reported him last night. He knows what he's doing. Con merchant. It saddens me that I bet a fair few young players have bought kit off him in good faith.

My last gig saw my old 90s Ampeg head blow during soundcheck. I had to go through our singers solid state guitar amp plugged into my cab. Although not great it wasn't as grim as I thought. My old head wasn't worth repairing so I just saw it as an excuse to get a new head.

I'm still stunned that in our shopping centre the kids don't get to sit on Santa's knee anymore. They have to sit on a stool next to him. It does rather imply we don't trust Santa anymore and he's a bit Gary Glitter!?! But in answer to the OP, I'm with Wayne on this one. You know it makes sense!

I've been fairly settled for a while or I was until my smaller solid state rig blew & I had to replace it with the Orange Terror head. In turn this has me wanting to replace my Ampeg big rig with Orange cabs but common sense sould suggest I leave it... however common sense isn't as common as the name suggests!?!

It's funny how time blurs things but it'd be somewhere between my Grandfather playing Johnny Cash in Tyneside, my Mum's copy of With the Beatles, watching the Police on Top of the Pops doing Walking on the Moon (with Stuart Copeland banging his drum sticks on everything he could - which seriously impressed me!) or my Dad being an ex pro drummer being dragged out of retirement to play drums in his school's production of Jerusalem Joy (he was a Headmaster). Dad's drumming had an unsuccessful attempt at rubbing off on me. My two best friends played instruments (clarinet and cornet) so in order to fit in I decided much to my Dad's delight I'd be a drummer at the tender age of about 7yrs old. I expected immediate success. However as a drummer I took after the cat, not my Dad!

I've acquired the Orange Tiny Terror head with matching SP210 cab. I used to believe it was all about size but I think technology has come on leaps & bounds over the last decade. I won't be gigging it until the 6th Jan but I'm hoping it'll be a preferrable alternative to a big rig.

Interesting, must have been a 60s thing. I can understand it more chordally for guitar though. It's a funny thing with forums - some people apologise for dragging up old threads & yet occasionally people post new threads on subjects that have been covered before and almost get corrected for not using the search function first. Ya can't win, I tells thee

They were everywhere about three years ago but do seem less common now. I assume Fender bring out new ranges & push those instead. Personally I'd always favour a used Standard MIA over the HWY1 but the owners do seem to like them. I could never get on with the finish personally

Bought a Speakon speaker cable from Dave. Despite the snow it arrived really promptly with good comms. Another Basschat convert here

I have an S9 Precision and the neck dates to early '79 where as the pots are '80. I'm sure the other posts are correct and I meant simply to state that the neck would have been made in 1978.

Quite a common problem with some Jazz basses too. I had it once and I solved it by selling the bass in the end! That was down to inexperience on my part (it was nearly 20yrs ago). New pickups usually do solve it but it's an expensive alternative if you can tweak what you have. Raising the height on one side should balance it better. I had a loud E and a loud G which was a major pain. My current Jazz has adjustable poles in the pickups so problem solved. Good luck sorting it
