1. I did a quick search and the last two East J's (used) one here both went for about £120 ish, so £100 would be a quick sale i would think. Just find it amazing this hasn't gone at £649.
2. Isn't that just dollars price though? Will it not be hit by VAT, import, customs over here, unless through an authorised dealer? Sorry, I'm a bit 40 watt.
3. Very tempting! Head new about £500, cab now discontinued but were about £800. Head is good in that there is a 4 ohm/8 ohm selector switch on the back of the head, so you can get full (loud) power on an 8 ohm cab. 4. Hi again 4 Strings, just for clarification, would you courier this at buyers cost? Also, the bass is 2005/2006 so the original spec would probably be the S1 switching configuration. Personally if I was in your shoes and DESPERATE! to get rid, I would remove the East, put the stack knobs back on, bass out at a STUPID £600 plus courier, and the East at £100 plus pp. If I was DESPERATE. If you don't have the skills to do the above, ask around on here, there will be somebody close to you that does have the skills. THAT is what Basschat is about That bass is a bloody bargain at £649. GLWTS, Karl.
5. Interesting to see what happens. I reported this as well, at 8.15 this morning.
6. The last two adverts I've reported just carried on to the end, ie FEEBay did nowt.
7.
I think I'll give this a swerve, shame I liked the colour..in answers to:- "It doesn't have a serial number? Do you know the age? Where made, US, Mexico or Japan? Any other details found on the bass? How long have you owned it, gigged it etc?" "Mate I've had the same questions from a million people. I haven't got any answers your looking for I'm afraid. I've had it 12 months, I bought it from a guy I worked with. That's all I can tell you. It is a very nice guitar"
Yup, I got pretty much the same response. He might not know much be he ain't putting the questions up and he is still calling it a Fender. Somebody is probably going to get shafted
8.
I mailed the seller..."....no serial number"
Me as well, they said no serial number anywhere, neck, plate, headstock. I emailed back and advised them it was VERY unlikely it was any kind of genuine Fender. They didn't reply to that mail, nor change the ad.
9. Ye Gods, that is stunning! Bump. Karl.
10. Gorgeous bass George and nice to see the scratchplate sorted and battery at back. The Japanese ones were pretty much all boat anchors, how is this one for weight? Bump. Karl.
11. Gutted, went for £787. Ah well, two basses is enough
12. Not going to argue with you Prime BASS, looking at your feet I think you might be the Jolly Green Giant. Try photobucket? Cracking looking bass.
13.
That`s nice, you`ll be pleased with that one Karl.
I am so bloody weak Lozz
14. Looking at your gear list, you surprise me
15. Genius ad Now, some much better photos please
16. I'm hoping some bugger outbids me on this one
17. As you well know illustrious mentor of Orange valve changes, he's talking cobblers It's a bog standard run Hot Rod, with a couple of bits of cheap tin that will go in the bottom drawer with the others
18. Cheers Andy. My efforts to get down to two basses lasted, erm, one piggin week
19.
He says he's 99% sure it's a one piece body but even i can see the join on the back view....
Yup, but it's still a fabulous looking bass, a great P/J
20. You know that moment when you see a fabulous bass and the lust mist descends? I'm leading the bidding on this. Not going any higher because I just got a bit carried away. Not the end of the world if I don't get outbid http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261232242342?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
21.
Any idea on the age of this amp, I believe the newer ones had the loud D.I problem sorted. I owned one of these and the Ad200 loved both, very tempted by this.....
The valves being changed should have sorted that.
22. Great amps, louder than them TC, Genz Benz equivalents. Only thing I have used that was louder was an EBS TD650 and that brought aircraft down
23. This may well have sold by now if you had put some good photos up
24. Excellent price for an excellent bass. I have seen some put these up for £700+ on Feebay. GLWTS, Karl.
25.
Ask him if it weighs a quarter of a ton. If it does, it might be a genuine 78... Seriously, though, it doesn't look right to me - my 78 was, as Ash says, block and bound. I'd like to see the neck plate, too - should be a micro-tilt. No bullet truss rod adjuster, either...nope, the more I looky, the less I likey...
Good spot Muzz!
