1. Bradwell, you obviously know what you are doing, so just a bleeding obvious statement/reminder follows . If you are going down the ultimate route of a couple of 2 x10's, 2 x 12's, don't buy anything like mine, (4 ohms), as very few amps go down to 2 ohms.
2.
BUMP It's at this point I usually BUMP for a PRICE DROP and the item sells quickly at a silly price. If that's what you're waiting for, it ain't gonna happen Bub - so if you want this you better get in quick - if it doesn't sell at this price, I'm keeping it!
Two years ago Mark, this would have been sold before you had finished typing the advert Somebody is getting a serious bargain at that price, like you say keep it. Any BF is damn good but also expensive new. Second hand they are boutique bargains.
3. We are at The Witton Chimes in Northwich on Sat. Stockport isn't that far. Feel free to come and try my bass rig out before we kick off. Just to give you an idea of what can be done on much less than your budget and without putting away chiropractor savings . PMT in Manchester have some great gear BUT, budget yourself a day out and go see Gary at Promenade in Morecambe. Top fella and they usually have lots of bass gear in. And finally, you said in your OP that the limiting factor with the TC head was your cab. I had a TC Staccatto and was very underwhelmed with the volume. BUT, that is my experience and my opinion, firestorms about how wrong I am, from TC fanbois will be ignored by me
4. Might be best to keep them up as I have somebody keen and I'm sure like most of us you would prefer cash . Be in touch soon-ish hopefully.
5. Yes, it is a jazz neck. I hummed and hawed about that one for a couple of weeks but it was just a tad too reliced for me. Beautiful bass though and many congrats. Make sure you put some photos on the Show us your Limelight (porn) thread.
6. More food for thought, thanks guys . Anyway, if the BF don't go it's academic. Unless the record labels come up with something. Aye, right
7.
Rubbish! I've never smuggled a budgie in my life! ...though I did hide a bird in a wardrobe once, but that's another story.
Yes, she was very disappointed the current Mrs. discreet came home.
8. Bloody Hell, that's a giveaway My BX 700 is a danger to shipping, that's a scary rig ya got there bertbass!!
9. Thank you for your comments Mr. Lukin, sensible as well, a bonus As subjective as sound is, guess your Indo is a little less hi fi that the Italian.
10. Amazing bass at that price
11. Yeah, I've read that a few times Mark but was a little confused tbh. The Basschat collective enjoyed Marco's contribution but he hasn't been on since March 6th so still not really sure what they are saying about the Indonesian gear. Just really wondering if anybody had bought and gigged the newer stuff, what the weight and tonal quality is like. It seems to have drifted off into a discussion about handles, and as ever somebody chucked an old Barefaced hammering in there . Always interesting to see where threads go, even though Off Topic now scares me senseless
12.
Karl, you're not buying gear on the strength of its appearance rather than performance... are you?? You should get them Bergs bought and have done with it!
To answer your question, probably . I refer my learned friend to my personal statement in post #1. Them Berg's will be gone before my BF goes. Mind you, I could spray the grills yellow
Sparkly grille cloth looks great on outdoor stages, anyway!
Don't you come on here being sensible, shooting pointless, senseless GAS down in flames
13. Hello evbodpeeps. Next year I have a few decent size festivals to do with a second band. As such, being a shallow magpie gear whore tart, I am thinking yellowness would stand out on a big stage a bit better than Barefaced silver cloth vintage. However, old git practicalities still rule as the gear would also need to be used for my other band's weekly forage into various Dog and Duck's (with the occasional Slaughtered Lamb ). So, enough prevarication. I am thinking 2 of them new Indonesian Markbass 2 x 10's at 8 ohms. Anybody tried them, views, experiences? Merky buckets (French tha knows). Karl.
14. With the gear you have to sell, you will have a great budget and believe me, with most of the equipment mentioned your back will thank you . Just a thought, you may like to consider used equipment from folk off here with good feedback. Reason is, I always find gear in a shop or at home sounds COMPLETELY different to how it sounds live in anger . If you buy good used gear second hand and it doesn't work out for you, you will lose a lot less money selling it on!!! Good luck whatever you decided to get and enjoy the journey!
15. Just a slight word of caution. A lot of us were fit and perfectly capable of lugging 4 x12's, 2 x18's, 4 x 15's back in the day. Now a lot of us are not, due to lugging those cabs up and down stairs 4 times a night for years. Lift properly, learn the lesson us owld gits learned the hard way
16. PM's replied, thanks folks. If it doesn't go this week, I shall slap myself for pointless GAS and keep on gigging her
17. DO NOT BUY A Barefaced off this man, buy mine. He wear's budgie smugglers Oh alright buy his, he's a good bloke and it's a fabulous price Edited for spelling (as usual ).
18. It would be this one Barefaced Super 12 (2 x 12 neo) with cloth face (vintage style)
19. So many lovely Bergs up at the mo and these are amazing. Didn't think my Barefaced would be hard to sell, but if it does go in time.................... GLWTS, cracking cabs.
20. Bugger, that's 2 in a few days. I need to check in more! discreet, you know which cartoon is being thought about don't you
21. Family and job no doubt Martyn, always the time priority. If that is the case, do what you need to do, but if you have the space and don't need the loot, put these cabs away. You will come back sometime in the future and will wish you still had them. I wish all of you the very best whatever happens. Be happy dude! Bump.
22.
Has anyone ever mentioned how light these things are I have one of the last S12T's made (probably at the same time as this one) and it/they are total guitard killers GLWTS
Thank you Marinus and Mr hux moderator sir . I put a link to the specs in post #3, however, for ease, S12 comes in at 40lbs. Your S12T is a monstrous 42lbs
23.
Does this have a tweeter ?
Sorry, no tweeter, I ordered it without one as I don't use them. I think the following link is the historical spec before they went to the Gen3. I received mine after about a 6 month wait and a couple of weeks later Alex announced the Gen3 . Anyway, link, Barefaced Bass - Super Twelve
24.
Its possible that this was mine once upon a time...I still have the orginal pickups!
Nope, it still had the original pups when Charlie bought it off me. I'd had it a couple of years, but Mark (Bananaman?) that I bought it off had owned the bass for most of it's life, certainly over a decade. Charlie who is currently selling it changed the generic pups out.. Hope that helps.
