  1. recently purchased Sean's PJB cabinet off him and what a beast it is. I'm not sure my back (or my wife) will ever forgive me! Sean was very easy to deal with and everything was exactly as he said it would be. Many thanks.
  2. Bought Lawries Marshall head. Very easy transaction, excellent basschatter. Many thanks.
  3. Just bought Marks BBP34 off him. Exemplary basschatter, the bass is exactly as described and I'm very happy. Would not hesitate to do business again. Also really liked the fact that Mark refused to take a deposit on the bass 'you've said you want it, its yours'. A man after my own heart!
  4. Spot on I reckon. If you look at the video you can see the back plate at one point. Phenomenal and unconventional woodwork on these basses. The neck extends into the body pretty much to the bridge- hence the enormous brass plate.
  5. Bought Richards Ashdown little bastard and 2x12" cab. Lovely chap, very easy to deal with . even met me at Peterborough services to make my life easier. Many thanks to a top basschatter.
  6. Nice wood looks nice and allows us all to therorise in a quasi mystical way on how those purpleheart stringers in the neck make the tone more 'shimmery'? 😆😆
  7. Anyone used Robbie Gladwell in Sudbury (Dr Roberts guitar surgery) for amplifier repairs?
  8. Lovely and unusual bass. GLWTS!
  9. lovely looking bass. GLWTS
  10. Hello Folks, I've recently aquired a rather lovely BB1200 and I'd appreciate some advice about a suitable truss rod wrench. Any ideas as to what size they are and where I could source one? Apologies if this has been asked before. I did a search but couldn't see an answer. Many thanks Stuart
  11. Hiya, I'm interested in the PJ set with the longer J pickup. Would you be able to send me dims pls? Many thanks Stuart.
  12. So I got this one Al: https://www.thomann.de/gb/the_box_pyrit_112_sub_a.htm It is the Pyrit one- I got it becuase it seemed a bit more 'pro' than the other models. Its 24 kilos, but its not big, so quite manageable to lug about I find. As Jazzyvee says, just adds a bit of weight to the bottom end.
  13. I play in a skiffle band occasionally, I double up on uke and microbass. I have a schertler combo which sits on one of those thoman 'The box' 12" powered subs which I dial in on the aux send of the microbass channel. Works a treat as it goes...
  14. Beautiful! GLWTS.
  15. I used Graham a lot when I lived in South London. he's really good and very friendly. Highly reccomended. And a +1 for The Gallery if you are up North.
  16. ...anyway. I think, having done a bit of online research and listened to the opinions of folks that have got/had both units, the HX FX is the one I want.
  17. Well, that told me then. How dare I ask opinions of fellow bass players....on...erm...a board that is dedicated to the opinions of bass players....🤣
  18. Whats the difference? Any pros and cons? What is the stomp XL? Thanks for the info, and apologies if this has already been done....
  19. I bought one of those speaker cabs- albeit with a blown 15" that needed reconing- for £150 a few years ago. And an immaculate, flightcased 400+ for £800. So I reckon you are pretty much spot on there Beedster.
  20. Lovely and unusual. GLWTS!
  21. Yes indeed, and I am an idiot who did not read a very well written ad..🤣.Its really pretty. GLWTS.
  22. Thats just nit picking. Anyone could make a mistake like that.....😬
  23. Lovely bass that. Where are they made?
  24. That one in the clip is the same colour as mine too- pretty much the same bass right down to the brass truss rod cover. Thanks for the kind words Nik!
