  1. Just saw this. Looking really good Andy. Following with interest. ✌️
  2. I did as it goes, and as others have noted on here previously, what a charming and helpful gent he is. I need a 5/16's spanner (same size as Gibson, apparently), and Chris was also able to give me a potted history of the bass, which is apparently a very early one which he dated at 1980 because of the rebate around the body, the Bill Lawrence pickups and the fact that it's passive. He also gave me some sage advice on adjusting the rod, which was very cool. I've included a pic of the bass below.
  3. Morning all, I have an Overwater bass- I believe its an 'Artisan'- it's a version of their classic shape with a carved top. The truss rod needs some adjustment and I was wondering if anyone knew what size tool I need (fnar fnar). The truss rod nut has the hex on the outside, so I'll need one of those skinny box spanners- I'm sure someone will tell me the correct name! Thanks! Stuart
  4. Cheers Pete. I'm on it!
  5. Well, one of the chaps said he didn't have a spray booth at the mo (just moved apparently- so totally fair enough) and the other didn't reply to my messages, which was a bit boring. Still, to paraphrase the always relevant David St Hubbins, in the hurly burly world of rock n' roll, these things happen...;0)
  6. drew a blank with all of these suggestions I'm afraid. Anyone got any other names? Thnx.
  7. +1 to that. Completely brilliant instruments. I'm sorely tempted.
  8. Thanks Pete, I shall drop him a line.
  9. Evening all, I have a stripped P bass body that I need spraying in tobacco sunburst. Does anyone know of a handy chap/ette in east anglia who could help? I know some of the more talented (or reckless) among us would suggest doing it myself, but I am deeply hopeless at that sort of thing. Best left to a pro, I fancy. Any and all help much appreciated. Stuart
  10. Lovely bass. A bargain for someone. GLWTS.
  11. I've been looking for one on and off for years, they seem to be fetching quite sensible money these days. IIRC I've seen them go for about £700ish on eBay. I did win one with issues for £280 a couple of years ago and then the seller ratted. Bah humbug.Good luck with the search!
  12. Lovely work Andy. Are they all rub on finishes? I really like that six string you built for yourself. Nicely put together..;0)

  14. Blimey. Someone has fitted NL4 outs to the micro tech.
  15. Aesthetic reasons really. I thought it looked a bit cheap and nasty.
  16. I've put flats on mine, taken the plastic pickup raiser off and lowered the action. It's growing on me.
  17. Hello, I'm in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, and London, at least once a week.....
