1. Hi, where would I find the pics of this bass please?
2. I thought, perhaps a percussionist? Have triangle, will travel? There must be a gig out there somewhere.....
3. Thanks Mick, thats kind of you. Maybe it would be best if I just removed my first post, and retired with whats left of my dignity...;0)
4. Ha! That'll teach me to stick my head above the parapet. The old 'name on the back of the headstock' pic. Don't I just feel a fool. Thanks for the correction Mick.
5. Evening all, been following this on eBay. http://www.ebay.co.u...K%3AMEBIDX%3AIT I must say the price is looking very healthy at the mo for the seller. Is this bass a supernatural? Looks more like a Roadie IIa to me- I admit I'm no expert, but paying £1200 notes plus, for a bass that if it is, is on the Jaydee website at £1455 brand new....well thats nuts isnt it?
6.
Essentially not Flea, who do you reckon to be the 'coolest' bassists. By cool I mean those who exude presence onstage with minimal effort and can play demanding basslines without breaking sweat. Kinda like this
He's got more ASS bins in his rig than there used to be in LA1......
7. Nice. Very nice. I'm jealous.
8. I do love a bass with prongs.... Fantastic collection Lorne!
9. Good luck. Watching with interest. Andy's builds have inspired me too, but I'm not sure Basschat is ready for my particular brand of quality carpentry.....
10. Thanks Basswood. I shall check them out. I usually plug in anyhow, so thats no biggie. Stuart
11. Hello Folks, Looking for a bit of wisdom and advice. I'm thinking of buying an acoustic bass, I'd like it to feel (and sound) as much like my ShortBass one as possible. Anyone got any ideas where I can get nygut strings in long scale? Or what sort of 'conventional' strings would replicate the feel and sound of the thunder guts on my ShortBass? Needless to say,Aquila don't/won't do long scale strings and my enquiry to Pahoehoe seems to have gone the way of all flesh... All thoughts gratefully received Stuart
12. Really nice bass. Right up my strata. Right out of my price range..:0( GLWTS
13. Hi, is this a Korean one or a Chinese one please? Many thanks
14. That is a lovely bass. Beautiful fretless tone, very well played if I may say so. GLWTS.
15. Great work. It's always nice to see a bass brought back to life!
16. That is a lovely looking bass, even at this early stage. The honey maple is glorious. Is the body unusually deep? I only ask because it looks like there is a lot of headroom in the control cavity!
17.
I've read in several interviews that Macca stopped using the Wal live because it was so heavy. In those same interviews I've never seen any mention of it being down to Mr McManus' geeky nose-poking. As for "It had, much to Costello's horror, five strings", this just makes him even more of a complete tit AFAIC.
This.
18. What sort of strings are you planning to put on this Andy?
19. 'Derby's Rob Allen'- now there's a thought, eh Andy?.... Subscribed!
20. That fingerboard is going to look lovely with the swifts. Very tasteful Andy. Nice touch.
21. Looks a treat Andy. Well done and thanks again!
