    I'm trying to improve my mixes so I had a go at mixing a song recorded by a guy over at the Andy Sneap forums. The guitar and bass were reamped from DIs. I'm trying not to listen to listen to the mix as a bassist, as I tend to feel the bass is too loud simply because I always listen out for the bass in songs.

    That's really terrible. I read about it yesterday on another forum but I had no idea he was a member on here, which really brings it closer to home.

    I've played a few of the Sadowskys at GuitarGuitar in Newcastle, and I was pretty disappointed. I think you have to be a certain type of player to really like Sadowskys and I'm just not that kind.

[/quote] I tried out loads of high end 5 strings a while back and the only one that I liked as much as my Spector was a SR5. If you're looking for a bass that isn't polite then Spector is the way to go!

    It's a pretty bog standard head feature wise, effects loops, EQ, active/passive input switch, bright switch etc. I've gigged with it with my Ashdown 1x15 and It sounds great for the rock/metal that I play. It's in excellent condition, especially since I've not used it much and I don't think the previous owner did either. It's the only piece of Peavey gear I've owned but it's made in the USA and I believe Peavey are known for their solid build quality. The only reason for sale is simply that it's too big for what I do - no complaints about the sound whatsoever!

    I'm sick of all my cheap leads breaking and I want to make some nice ones to use. I've got the soldering side of things covered (admittedly I'm not great at it) but stripping wires is extremely unpleasant, especially since all I have is a swiss army knife. Will something basic like [url="http://www.rapidonline.com/Tools-Fasteners-Production-Equipment/Hand-Tools/Wire-Strippers/Automatic-wire-stripper/30558/kw/stripper"]this[/url] work for stripping coaxial guitar leads?

    I've got an Ibanez RG7620 with a set of Dimarzios in (PAF7 in the neck, Blaze Custom in the bridge) and a tremol-no installed. Is that any good to you? Plus I'm nearby, in Sheffield, too.
