1. I'm in , its a little underwhelming TBH , trying to set something up with Lurksalittle and her mates just didn't happen , and this entry is 'lame' in her words I couldnt get any other angle so bland it is unfortunately https://soundcloud.com/lurksalot/fairy-nuff
2.
Spector Euro 4LX. Possibly an unpopular choice... Some awesome tones, but the preamp output was WAY too hot (and no trimpot on this version). The ergonomics just didn't work for me and although I liked the tone, it didn't fit the band I was in at the time. Traded it for a Fender Marcus Miller Jazz, which was also a bit meh. Too heavy and with a stupid preamp. I can work with most instruments, but those two were moved on pretty quickly - the beauty of the Basschat market place!
I loved the tones on my Euro 4 but I just couldn't get on with the thickness of the neck , my legend is a bolt on neck and just slightly thinner and is a different beast and still love it. I am going short scale though cos of my small hands but will always have a place for the legend , the Euro was traded for a lovely Gordon Smith SG!
3. We tried rocking it , but just couldn't nail it , parts sounded good , but it didn't gel so after trying to gig it we gave up ..... however 'Does your mother know' rocks out brilliantly 👍
4. The point at which the band you are in, are playing different tunes
5. We have used the EV zlx12's for yonks and never felt the need for subs , we occasion mic the kick, but not for any 'belt you in the guts' effects , just to be heard , mist of our stuff is covers based around the vocal or lead , we just need to let that shine most of the time and the slx12's work brilliantly for everything we throw at them
6. Lurksalittle had some ideas for this , and may even have an ensemble to perform it , I doubt it will come off as she is still to young to realise the work needed to realise her ambition , however , hope springs etc and I would just love it to happen
7. Well wow that ended up a close call Well done Bilbo at close of voting you got it 👍 A really close call at the death and I am well happy to have pushed you to the end 😄
8. I have a set of etymotic er 20 I think , I haven't used them in ages as we used to use a big rehearsal space and set up as a gig so the back line went flying past with no real issue, we now use studio type rooms , which is massively convenient for set up times , it does mean though that we effectively face each other so i have started using the etymotics again. Much better than the H&S ear bungs , as I still have an excellent mix getting to my ears , just significantly quieter .
9. I think your enthusiasm commendable my friend , but does the French calendar need another day adding in September to bring it in line with the UK version .

11. I really enjoyed that listen through, excellent entries as usual . for those wanting a little insight to the entries , may I refer you to the recording thread here http://basschat.co.uk/topic/311168-september-composition-challenge-get-writing/ if you scroll a little you can find Dads plays of the day , where he offers a brilliant and succinct review of each entry, they are well worth a read.
12. I was reminded the other day that I have shot clays with Martin Blunt of the charlatans , well I shot a few but unfortunately he didn't , a touch disappointing for him , but he thought he might have more chance if he was shooting at the gold discs on his wall
13.
Thanks for the 'kind' review Dad......the cheques in the post On a serious note, your reviews always add another dimension when listening to the tracks. Very much appreciated, thanks... Nige
A big +1 from me on that as well
14.
Not a bad idea. It won't get around the problem of there not being any space for it but it will let me hear the difference. Next problem to solve will be how to get 8 rolls of the stuff into the back of a sports saloon
A neat trick is to get it delivered Ed to add , buy a cheap punch bag , rip the guts out of it , stuff it with acoustic wadding and voila , you have a great sounding gym aswell
15. I'm not sure it belongs here , but a day at the races means I pick a horse called 'song maker ' and I win a few pennies , next race I pick a horse called 'arty Campbell ' and I win a lot more pennies , random , maybe , not when you bet like a lady ........cheers Leonard
16.
It's the market riding rough-shod over basic human dignity! Welcome to 21st-century regulation-free capitalism trickle-down! ...I am joking by the way, before anyone accuses me of putting on my tinfoil hat (which is away being repaired).
You could have borrowed one of mine, I always have a spare just in case !
17. Mines done , I did want to write some lyrics in but the tune ended up all happy and the words would not have worked , so I left it instrumental . NO , NO I hear you cry , but alas, yes, it is purely toooon this month https://soundcloud.com/lurksalot/all-the-fun
18.
ADJ dmx buddy. £50. A slightly limited version of mydmx but way more than you need. Can also be run without a pc if you save programs to the small x l r interface.
This looks excellent , can it be hooked up to a foot controller, particularly for blackout ?
19.
I'm thinking I could go with the 'Dawson' angle......as in , Les
Or the tribute act Less Dawson
20. Well done xgjsx a worthy winner indeed !
21. Our singer has had the idea of putting the logo jpeg on a memory stick , with a lot of the modern TVs that seem to be stuck on the wall behind most stages , he thought it might plug and play , yet to try it mind
22. I've voted over there as well
23.
...or, at least, I hope one can improve..
Which one ?
24. Fantastic Dad , I really love your reviews, but more importantly, absolutely chuffed to bits that you are up to the job of doing them ......... .......even if you did use the word 'horrendous' about mine .......top review, I proper LOL'd.
25.
If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the precipitate.
Bravo
