What's Your Cover Band's Schtick? Does it matter?
lurksalot replied to Sean's topic in General Discussion
Simple strap line when anyone asks "radio 2 rock" Pretty much a middle ground running from Abba to AC/DC with a little bit of punk thrown in , just about everything we do would be on the Radio 2 playlist and generally people get the picture quite quickly without me trying to remember the set list -

Thanks for that buddy , that was the hope we had when we did it , 3 generations having a good laugh , even SWMBO couldn't help smiling at the end -

He's only 2 but just like the daughter , prefers a nice big box to play with rather than the toys that came in it -
Big Fat End of Year Cover Song Challenge - VOTING CLOSED

I can't compete with that sort of promotion , however , little Albus says Vote for meeeeeeeeee -
Doh , I just spent 8.75 this very morning !

I would take "gain" as being "added" value due to the incorrect labelling in this instance
-
I will quote you on this and highlight the pertinent bits The issue is gain or loss , if their is an abscence of "a view to gain for himself or another, or with intent to cause loss to another" might this seem as definitive as you claim? To be honest this community is pretty hot on things like this , and as far as Fender are concerned they are probably quite happy to see there brand being promoted everywhere and as long as this site is clear as to what is being sold and that there is no-one with "a view to gain for himself or another, or with intent to cause loss to another" in the process I think it seems quite clear. I base this analysis on the above quote as it is your argument , not as a point of law , though it may still apply

I use a ryger machine https://www.amazon.co.uk/Ryger-FL-P1-Multi-LED-Controller/dp/B00J5I0RN8 not programmable but with the led par cans there are about 100 chase and fades etc very easy to use with a step on flood and blackout , limitations definitely , but certainly a 'turn on and let it get on with it' bit of kit

How many Facebook group members does it take to change a spark plug?
lurksalot replied to ead's topic in General Discussion
Did no-one mention to check the gap before the spark plug was fitted .....and to check the colour of the deposits on the plug coming out , fuel /air mixtures also need discussing here -
We played a regular haunt last night , it was ok , but it took a while before they warmed up , it was a lot quieter than we expected , and according to a few around many other pubs were quiet too. we played reasonably but seemed oddly out of touch with each other , mainly singer and guitar maybe , but simple arrangements got mistakes on them , strange !! Still a break till mid January might allow a bit of time to re-focus happy Christmas all

The judges are the BC massive , and if you can work out how they will interpret the voting criteria then go for it with either of your choices , as long as it is a cover I might have missed overiding genre interest of forum , but I'm hoping to influence the vote with humour and cuteness

That is a beautifully simple layout , superb

I'm a reaper man , it was recommended to me by 51mOn , and after a few kicks in the right direction I am on the right path , and I was a total DAW virgin till around 4 years ago 😳 ......... Some might say they can't tell the difference after 4 years 😂

OK the feedback was fine , so I can offer up for you ..... Wheels (OTB) from the family Lurks If I listen critically there are still plenty of the production that could do with more expert a touch than I can offer, but overall the effect is what we had hoped for Please enjoy Happy Christmas to you all I can get back to organising ours now

I have got 3 generations of vocal on mine, lurksalittle loves it so far and I nearly whizzed myself on the first family run through . I am waiting on some detailed feedback from my lad as he is more familiar with the genre, and as he 'sang' it , I think it fair. Ed to add , I've been given 1 suggestion which is worth following up on , so I'll do that in the morning and get the thing published , I can start Christmas after that

I'm with Dad here, I reckon there are any number of superb songs being written and performed by thousands of people all the time , the fact that they don't get massive exposure doesn't mean the songs are no better than the greats in any way. Listen to some massive hits and they can be populist crap written, produced and promoted with the desire to fill the purses of those involved before the quality of the song. I realise that music is a business and is just as much a money go round as any other business , but that doesn't mean that some of the also rans cant write some beautiful stuff

I've done that before, using an instrument to follow a melody , but I even struggle getting that in tune

I realise that google is mahoosive , but how can it search a server more effectively than the site that is hosted on it ? -
Not for me my only thought was that a real human voice would offer more sympathy to what is a lovely story

In a similar vein I have recorded a vocal for this month. My lad is coming round on Saturday morning to collect the grandson who we have over on a Friday night, we have a 60minute window to get them to put a couple of tracks down . If that works I can remove my vocal and offer a festive treat for your ears
