Wow you have certainly packed so kit into there , how do you get to it all ?
-
You generally have no control over the room acoustics though.
and by extension, limited control over your tone which is why I don't overly GAS for tone specific kit
-
I am probably a bit wide of the mark , but the room has a massive, if not definitive, influence on the sound , and if the tone is the quality , timbre and effects that together make the sound then the tone is at the mercy of the room , never mind the influence of the tone of any other instruments that are playing at the same time .

First come first served , Is a peavey bassfex as title there is one on the bay here http://www.ebay.co.u...t-/191080289850 the seperate PSU/transformer pack probably wouldn't pass a PAT test but a bit of silicone and insulation has held it together for the 5 years I have had it some great sounds in it but I havent used it in ages so its time to let someone else have a play , Apologies if you are trying to sell one for £65 on the bay Collect please or can meet up local to Chester , if it doesnt go after a while I may consider boxing it up for carrier , at cost , but not just yet

The second run out with the new PA last night at a pub gig , it was a touch nervy to start as the desk seems a bit sensitive and getting the levels right took a bit longer than normal as we had a couple of feedback issues , as soon as we got to grips with that we were off and it was brilliant . not a massive crowd , but we kept the place busy and they seemed to like everything we played. My tone sounded lush last night with enough bite when I wanted , though lead guitar had a tendency of noodling at lead volumes when a more subtle volume would have kept the sound together better , but nevertheless , another booking in the diary and good night had by all.

well this is a first for me ....and for March , I have kept this one simple ....very simple, but I quite like it https://soundcloud.com/lurksalot/para-ana-y-paco , hope you like it

I too would love to do something like this , I have seen something listed from the Manchester Met Uni , with classes at Northwich , this could be right up my street as while I have learned soooooo much from you guys , I think the hands/ears on instruction might be quite insightful .
a great challenge and I shall be brushing up on the fridgian and meloncholic minor scales

Whilst I shall be Googling those terms and reminding myself to make more effort learning theory
Well Skol , I too have done some googling and it would appear that Al's kids may have been weighing a large fruit and made a bit of a mess , I am not sure why he thinks you are called Ian though , I would just get on with the challenge and let the kids clean their own mess up . Anyway ,I have found a fair bit about Paco de Lucia , but not so much about his brother Andy ,
Is there an extra bonus for anyone able to conjure up an homage to Paco, inspired by the photo, but without flamenco content..? No promises on my part, though; it's tough enough as it is..!
, mere padding that one Dad , I am sure you have already sorted this and are just conversing to put a decent bit of time before loading it up .

This one is a touch interesting , I can't quite get my head around it , probably over thinking it as normal , but it almost looks like a photoshoppy / cartoon kind of image , with either the sun or the moon making an appearance , I have Lurksalittle and her friend Popsinforalurknowandagain ( she is only 10 , ah bless) helping with ideas , so this could get very random

At some point this evening I believe , I guess the BC challenge massive are all on tenterhooks waiting for the next challenge
Nothing says 'I love you' better than a butt-plug resembling an audio waveform that says 'Ow, my arse hurts!'.
class , absolutley brilliant
I've been meaning to post some constructive feedback on everyone's entries, so here goes...! lurksalot: Very ambitious track lurks! Very creative too. The strings all sound ace. The vocal is a damn good effort and bold as brass! Either you’re singing a second part in falsetto or I can hear two voices here - ? The track has tons of potential and I can really hear what you had in mind with this - but it’s not quite there. Still, it’s not a genre I would ever attempt myself - I’m too chicken! - and top marks for throwing a curveball and taking me by surprise.
Cheers Paul , Yeah , you called it , ridiculously ambitious , but I have no particular genre I am any good at , so I will have a go at whatever seems to call at me in the picture , Last months was humorous , but this one I saw in a much darker , serious way . The voices were all mine except 1 from emmas friend, which I effectively stole from her , I said "sing this and I will record it" ,she said Wow and one take and I had to use it. It needed a proper, good vocal and that is really where it gets let down , I do know an opera singer ( a friends daughter) who has a beautiful voice who will bring you to tears when you listen to her, and I was hoping...........but alas , a few hundred miles , a tight schedule , and probably a lack of talent from me , put too much in the way of a collaboration, and my Emma didnt like it so was not up for it either . Live and learn though, and it is all good experience , and someone voted for me , many thanks I daresn't listen to the entries before I put mine in, as the quality of them scare the life out of me, but the last week of the month is a terrible time for me , I have uploaded my entry and have to wait a whole 7 days for the next inspiration
If in doubt stick on an A and play 8th notes. You are never usually more than 5 frets off key..! Just try to look cool like you are playing a 5th instead of root because you know it and the rest don't. Confidence - appear confident, even if you don't have a clue, and never stop playing as that is a dead giveaway! Cheers, Rich
[Jazz] Yeah [/Jazz]
-
I may have missed something in this and apologies if I have , but She sells sanctuary is what our rhythm calls a 'clock' song , it just goes round and round and round and round , and it can be carried off quite reasonably with 4 notes , you could probably play it hendrix style upside down with your teeth after 2 bars practice
would it be wrong to say i voted for the one which had the most interesting and varied spectrum graphic?
I think personally that I wouldn't like to comment .............................. at least until I found out what you were talking about

How do you get the quote thing to work it never works for me, I click it in the post I want to quote, then add my text and nothing?
as long as you leave the all the (quote) (/quote) marks in place it should just work. I couldnt use the square brackets as it actually made a quote !!!!
